Problems setting up live tv on nextpvr

The directives there state:

For those that don't want to install the full Hauppauge WinTV suite or have lost their original CD, NextPVR users have reported that it is possible to download and install only the required files using the commands below.

1. Download the latest version of WinTV7 from the Hauppauge support website.
2. Download and run the bat file from same directory. If you are using Windows 7 the commands will need to be run with elevated privileges (right-click and select 'Run as Admin').
3. Once the SoftPVR components have been installed, the WinTV7 installer and batch file can be safely deleted.

In my attempt to do so, I received the following error when running WinTV7 - WinTV Board not found. No WinTv Product was detected, please make sure the drivers are installed and re-run setup. Setup will now end. Hardware Model Found:2

What now? What WinTV product is it referring to? All of this has me totally confused. :confused: Not to mention, in number 2 - which directory is it referring to? I have the wintv7_cd_3.2.exe and softpvr.bat in the same directory.

I've never had to do this myself, so I'm no expert but...If you re-read those Option 2 instructions, you'll find it's not telling you to run the WinTV installer.

The instructions just told you to download WinTV, then run the batch file against it.

What do you mean "run the batch file against it"?

What sub means (I think) is DON'T run the WINTV7 install exe - instead run the batch (.bat) file you downloaded.

EDIT: The batch file is in the zip file available on the wiki page under the Option 2 instructions where it says Download:SoftPVR.zip

Okay. I did that. I ran softpvr.bat in the same directory as the wintv7 exe file. The Analog tuner in the Diamond card still does not show up.

Did you restarted Recording services? or reboot the computer

Yes - the system has been rebooted.

Strangely enough, unlike before, in Device Manager I now see a listing for Other devices\Unknown device. When I right click on it - Location shows as "on Hybrid TV Stick" (which is what Windows 8.1 calls my tuner). When I select the Detail tab I see a Value AVSTREAM\CIR\7&2DA8BA40&0&0

For an unknown reason, I no longer see an ATI Unified AVStream Driver in Devices Manager/Audio,Video,Games Controller

During the process of setting up NextPVR and everything needed to get it to run, something definitely has changed.

Did you do a search of TVW750USB in the forum ?

You would get more stuff to read by doing a search for Diamond ;-)

Next step would be to install AMD 10.4 driver for the Tuner

In view of the above forum article you mentioned, and the fact that Diamond does not offer a AMD 10.4 driver for this tuner - I have submit another request to Diamond support on how to specifically set up NextPVR for use with this card since they recommended NextPVR.

Hopefully, they will reply in reasonable amount of time.

Update: Oops. I was wrong. I just found on the Diamond website the 10.4 driver.

If you look in your npvr.log, does it say anything about supporting or not supporting analog tuner(s)? If it does, you have successfully installed the softpvr components.
