Ok, this is a little more involved than i first thought. It *appears* that my blaster ports numbering is changing...i suspect with each reboot.
for a while these incantations worked:
-channel {channel} -delay 500 -host localhost -port Port_0 #for tuner 1
-channel {channel} -delay 500 -host localhost -port Port_2 #for tuner 2
then a few days later, after some reboots, only one channel was changing correctly
then it started working again for both channels, but the metadata was swapped. to wit, if 2 programs were being recorded simultaneously, while both would indeed record, the .ts file containing Program A was getting named "Program B" and vice versa. so that suggested that Port_0 was now activating tuner 2 and Port_2 was now activating tuner 1.
more reboots (for other reasons)
and now, it seems to be working fine but with these strings
-channel {channel} -delay 500 -host localhost -port Port_3 #for tuner 1
-channel {channel} -delay 500 -host localhost -port Port_2 #for tuner 2
i didnt even know i had a Port_3, but that string is working and Port_0 and Port_1 arent.
so, are these blaster port assignments varying with every reboot? does this have to do with how windows is mapping USB channels? does anyone know how to assign these guys permanently...perhaps in the registry?
thanks,
jh
