Updated to 3.4.8 PC clients now freeze when playing live TV on some channels

I launched live tv on a client and just let it run. all went fine for a couple of hours, and then suddenly it froze. A bit of checking in the logs showed that it froze when a recording started on a different tuner (live tv was running on an ATSC channel, while the recording started on the QAM channel which has a dedicated tuner). After the recording started, things got a little crazy in the logs although I can't tell if anything there points to a cause of the problem vs. being merely results of things going sideways. In particular, the live tv byte offset becomes over 3 petabytes, which is clearly impossible; suddenly there are also apparently hundreds of livetv files to be dealt with as well (though all disappeared on their own).

the attached logs are the server NRecord.log and the client NPVR.log. you'll want to look at 15:00 in each log.

Mine client gets stuck in a JIT error loop and I can't even get into it and set any of the settings (fresh install)

No errors logs that I can find so don't ask .....

What I ended up doing was uninstall NPVR on the client and reboot, then I deleted the NPVR folder in Program Files and Users/Public and rebooted again then I opened Regedit and searched for npvr and deleted every Key with it in there, rebooted again and called up Regedit again and searched for nextpvr and deleted those 2 or 3 keys and rebooted (Not sure is all the reboots are necessary but being a Windows User since version 1 that came on multiple 5" floppy discs experience says it is best practice) Then I was able to get it to install and start and set it up as a client ***using the actual IP address not the name which never seems to work ****

Problem is now I have the exact same problem I had when I tried it a month (and a version) ago, the client plays live TV for a minute or two and then freezes BUT it's still streaming to the time shift buffer on the server and I made that a share and I can watch the stream in MPC on the client until the buffer switches to a new file. I can also get that one to load and play but doing that every few minutes really isn't practical

Yeah, mine keeps freezing randomly as well. But recordings seem to work fine. Very strange, might work fine for 2 mins or an hour.

Mine freezes too.. It just stops playing after a while. Log attached. Tuner still locked showing recording LiveTV.... but picture is frozen. Hitting stop on frozen Picture frees tuner than I can start livetv again.


It happened again 2nd log attached. LiveTV on Client un-watchable. Nothing recording just LiveTV.

That is ok but you lose PIP. I no longer have the freezing on LIVETV ever since I installed a patch Sub published to fix Prime multi-record. I was able to watch the full NFL Draft not one freeze.
