No network ethernet makes it a no go for me ,tried WiFi on rpi adds a big delay in everything you do over network
I just bought one of the ESP8266 modules for about GBP 4.49 but I could have got one from China (eBay) for about GBP 3. I'm just putting together my custom build of NodeMCU and notice 1-wire network is an optional module.
Once I've done that I just have to remember how to script using Lua.
