NextPVR Settings tells me DirectX Runtime not found, using SW rendering

This is strange. I exit NextPVR, ran it again, ran Settings, and now the DirectX red text is gone. I didn't change anything on my computer, not even rebooted. This is a definite bug. I can tell you what I was doing to change the NextPVR configuration, which led me to running Settings. Something in those actions must have caused the bug.

Either way, it's not a big deal. NextPVR should work perfectly fine without the DirectX runtime. It only uses very subtle animations in a couple of places.

I don't have precise steps because that means I would have to reproduce the problem and document what I did, and I don't think that can happen, so I hope it helps that I can describe I was doing.
I know how that can be difficult to deal with -- I'm a BIOS engineer and deal with the UEFI EDK II code and bugs often, and go on many hunts to reproduce a bug with only a description.

1. I just switched from my Leaf Amplified indoor antenna to a Leaf Sky HDTV outdoor antenna. I am trying to get the OTA signals better, and where I live (rural) you need a better antenna.
2. I went into Settings => Devices => Device Setup for 1 of my 2 HD Homerun dual tuners.
3. Click Scan to scan channels again.
4. Delete a bunch of the channels.
5. Edit the other HD Homerun tuner and delete all channels.
6. Edit same HD Homerun tuner as in 5, get prompted to copy the other tuner's data, click Yes so the 2 tuners are the same.
7. Settings => Channels => Empty EPG, then Update EPG (I have SchedulesDirect, see my signature).
8. Exit Settings.
9. Run Settings. This is when I saw the red DirectX warning link.

I know that's not precise steps, and many not reflect the only things I did, but that is what I was doing -- doing channel rescan, edit them, update EPG.

I picked up many more channels, and all of the channels have a stronger signal thus I don't get the resync/blockiness problems at times on some of the channels. Imagine that, an outdoor antenna mounted on a 12 foot pole in a rural area (loads of Douglas fir trees) would do better than an indoor paper thin antenna taped to the wall. It only took me 6 years to get around to using the right antenna for the terrain. :eek:

To be honest, there isn't much to go on. I can't see anything in those steps accounting for it being marked as not installed.

Could you maybe have been running another app which was using a significant amount of 3D or video memory when you started NextPVR? ie, leaving it with not enough resources to for NextPVR?
