Yep every time.

Anything else I can do to help diagnose? I am a software engineer by trade but have not messed with Java in a long while, willing to give it a go.

Can you check if the NPVR Recording Service is running a the time you try the deletion. If it is running, but you still get this error, you might need to check if you've got firewall software getting in the way of communication between frontend and recording service.

How should I check that? Simply look at the Windows Services in Task Manager? If so I am sure it is running. I will try later by stopping and then deleting. I am recording right now but will try iot later.

I am just using Windows firewall. I have 2 NestPVR entries and 2 NRecord entries, each pair has one with Private checked only and the other with Public checked only.

You can either check that nrecord.exe is running in the Task Manager process list, or in the Services control panel.

If I stop the recording service, confirm that it is stopped, status for show still shows recording. If I try to delete I get the crash.

Yep - it can't delete an active or pending recording with the recording service not running. Realistically, you shouldn't ever have the recording service stopped though, so this isn't a concern.

What???

It is a concern. I am still getting crashes. Service running or not.

I thought you were saying you only get the crash if the recording service is not running - I would expect that to be a problem. (in that original log snippet I posted from your logs, the recording service was not running)

If its a problem deleting the recording while the recording service is running, you'll need to post the logs showing that problem happening.

It crashes if service is running or not. I would not want to stop the service so I want to delete while running the service. Logs are already posted above and crash occured while serice was running.

That log you posted earlier did not appear to have the recording service running (which gives this "No connection could be made because..." error). Do you get this same error in your logs when you try to delete with the recording service running? If so, I'm leaning towards firewall/antivirus getting in the way of communication with the recording service.

Quote:2016-07-23 13:16:39.215 [ERROR][1] Unexpected socket exception calling StartStream(): System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8968

If you're sure it's running, and adament that it's not firewall/antivirus related, and are happy to let me remote in and take a look (using either TeamViewer or Remote Desktop), I'm sure we can get to the bottom of it.
