This technique sounds like it could be very useful. Would some kind soul elaborate on the <RecordingDirectoryTranslation> syntax? Maybe update the Wiki since it's not shown there?

The separator character is the ~ character. The first part is when the server knows the recording path as, and the second part is what the client knows the path as. The client basically replaces that part of the path with it's own.

If you've got multiple recording directories, you can add ~ and then another pair etc.

OK. To be clear then, for multiple recording folders:

<RecordingDirectoryTranslation>{full-pathA-on-server}~{full-pathA-on-client}~{full-pathB-on-server}~{full-pathB-on-client}</RecordingDirectoryTranslation>

Yes? And the folders may contain video of virtually any format known to Windows?

Yes, and yes (assuming you've got directshow codecs installed to play that format)
