I don't have a good answer based on the logs but I know it works with Leia generally. I am away so only have a phone support. I do see you might be playing an mp4 through web client and that requires advanced settings.xml and if it's not set up you might need a reboot

I had the same problem when using the MQ7 Krypton Mod skin. Try switching to the default Estuary skin if your not already.

Just putting my 2c in to see whether it was worth me pursuing this, XNEWA on Kodi 17.6 on an Android Sony Bravia X900F TV running Android 7.0 works fine with the XNEW NPVR web client but when I tried Kodi 18 RC 5.2, while the non-web client version worked fine, the web client version just gave me a black screen. The 26 Jan nightly likewise.

I see from the Kodi thread I may not be alone in seeing this https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=333746 but I was wondering if I am an outlier here or whether I should have another crack at it and send both logs i.e. it should work ?

Timeshift problems and x-newa are not related. Other problems require logs.

OK will try to reinstall Kodi 18 RC on the TV and get you these; I need to find out how to get access to the logs, I am not sure how to WinSCP into the TVs File System.
