So now I've removed all remote file storage, only local D: drive. Problem still persists.
New logs attached.
If you have recordings on other computers share there will still be references to that share in the database, even if you have removed it from recordings directory.

Would it be best to wipe out the database then? I've not done any imports before, but at a minimum we can eliminate that being the problem then go from there. Or should I add back the shares?

Originally I set up a couple of recordings to go to the NAS about a month ago an haven't added any since, and now with the problem just trying to eliminate any possibilities.

npvr.zip is attached, is the npvr.db3 file

I see what happened, I went over some amount of total storage. How do I remove old uploads then? I'll keep looking.

This file is only 12mb compressed

You should use some cloud storage like OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox.

Yeah, there is a pile of recordings there with UNC paths, which I'm sure is where your delays would be happening.

You could try setting <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> and <CheckForRenamedRecordings> to false in config.xml to see if it helps.

I quickly made the change as i was running out to work. recordings going to the local drive now and I think they're ok. I'll check it out more when I get back.
I have been running with the windows share to a computer for years now. The NAS may have had 20 recordings over the last 6 weeks or so and I don't think it was actively dropping new ones there now for a few weeks.

Did I hit a limit of some sort? I have to think those two settings are important that I changed too. Once I hear back from you I'd like to turn back on the windows share atleast, but eventually the NAS would ideally be the central store for all TV and Movie recordings.

I don't think you've hit any limit - I think it's just proving really slow checking all your recordings still exist on your network drive. Did it all of sudden get slow, or has been gradually getting slower over time? if the former, then something has probably changed in your network environment that has caused things to slow down (or maybe a windows thing has changed, slowing network access, or antivirus or other software change).

If it's working ok with those two setting set to false, you could probably add your NAS drive back in, and result recording to it. With those set to false, it wont attempt to check you still have the files when loading the recording list.

I'd say it's been getting more unresponsive over time to the point where last week it just got so bad it stopped recording most programs all of a sudden. It may have been unresponsive, but always recorded up until last week.

So then my problem is made worse by not watching and deleting more often? I just assumed, get bigger HDs and keep filling. I thought hundreds or even thousands of recordings or videos would be nothing to handle. Normally I record from NPVR over to a network share on a computer/server, then delete those files on that computer. But I've never been able to delete those recordings from NPVR's menu on the windows share. local recordings delete fine. Could this also have grown so badly in the npvr.db3 file since they never "clean" out?
