The list of devices in the Status displayed by NPVRTray (6 devices)
does not match the list of devices in the reply to the system.status request  (4 devices)
and neither matches the list of devices in the Web Settings/devices page (10 devices)

I have 3 HDHomeRuns.  Each appears as two DVB-T devices, Two HDHR devices and Two DVB-C Devices.
The 10th is an unused IPTV device

I have only defined channels on the DVB-T devices.

One of the changes in the latest version (or maybe starting with the last one) was that the status displayed by the tray app and the gadget will only list devices that have channels defined. So those extra HDHRs and unused IPTV devices that don't have any channels shouldn't be listed.

Have you got NextPVR v4 installed as well? I'm wondering if this is confusing issues. ie, you might not be using what you think you're using.

Which exe started NPVRTray for you?  Maybe that is the v4 version?

This machine did have NPVR V4 installed in the past.

The V4 NPVR install directory was copied to a different location, and then the original deleted (to avoid windows issues with renames), recreated the dir and copied V5 from the zip before running installservice.bat (I cannot recall if I manually deleted the old service definition with SC before running installservice.bat).

I could try deleting all the Program files directories related to NPVR & recopying from the zip if this will help.

OK that might explain it, you probably still have the old file

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp\NextPVR Tray.lnk

and the old NTray.exe might still be in the folder. The new file that should run is NPVRTray.exe

Not sure how an old link could result in the new V5 icons appearing in the tray.

At no stage in these tests have I used a shortcut, directly or indirectly.

I have now conclusively proven it is neither an old ntray.exe being used or a old shortcut.

OK.
Service and tray exited.
All shortcuts to ntray.exe and npvrtray.exe deleted.
service manually deleted.
All program directories for V4 and V5 npvr have been deleted.

191201.zip extracted to a new directory.
installservice.bat run as administrator.
npvrtray.exe run directly - shows new icon in green.

opened web & displayed devices shows 6 devices with channels.
shows status in npvrtray, 5 devices shown (missing highest priority device).

started live tv.
One of the devices on the npvrtray status page vanished (now 4 showing)
stopped live tv.
a different device reappears on the npvrtray status page (one of those without channels defined).

Next step will be to also delete and recreate the directories in c:\users\Public

You need to click two buttons to attach and one to post.
