- Any time before 7pm local time, I get full guide data from the beginning of the day (midnight) through 7pm, and everything is blank after that (other than shows that start earlier and carry over - say, a 3 hour movie starting at 6pm).

- After 7pm (including checking tonight at 7:01pm), I get data from 7pm through midnight, and everything is blank earlier in the day.  Again, with the exception of anything that carries over across the 7pm boundary.

So given that I'm at UTC-5, UT vs. local time seems like the probable cause.

Good spotting. I'll check the code and see if I can find anything that would explain this.

Me being in a very different timezone may be a factor why I haven't seen it. In in GMT+13

I've pushed up an updated docker image as nextpvr/nextpvr_amd64:prerelease. Let me know if it helps. It's got a small tweak to the handling of a date.

I installed the new docker image. The server shows a new version number - 5.0.1.200128. I installed it and gave it a try just before 7pm, and checked again after 7pm, and the behavior of the guide on both of my iOS devices is the same as before.

On the plus side - just for kicks, I just tried using the search tab in the iOS app, and that's working fine now.

hmm I’m wondering if the timezone is correct in your docker container - another user was having date time issues with this.

Now is a good time to upload the zipped server logs so we can see the requests that are coming in.

You hit the nail on the head - I had incorrectly assumed that the Docker container would inherit the timezone from the parent OS, as it did with the time. But I did an ssh into my NextPVR container, and date gave me something like "Wed Jan 29 19:34:33 UTC 2020".

So - I stopped the container, and configured it to add a TZ environment variable, set to "America/New_York". After restarting the container and ssh'ing back in, I now see "Wed Jan 29 19:34:33 EST 2020". And even better, guide data in the iOS app now works correctly on both devices (iPhone and iPad). I checked it both before and after 7pm, and everything is good.

Thanks very much for the support!

Now that the guide issue is all straightened out, it occurred to me - what would happen if I take a vacation or something, and travel to a different time zone? So, I tried manually changing my iOS time zone to a couple of different things - Las Vegas (US Pacific time), 3 hours west, and London, 5 hours east. The same problem of part of the day being blank comes up; specifics depend on which direction you go.

I think I'd argue in favor of having iOS always display things in the time zone that the *server* is in, but I'm not really sure what the "right" way is to handle this. Anyway, it's not really a huge issue, but it could be useful to be able to view the guide and generate a recording while away from home. Though I suppose the quick work around would be - while traveling, temporarily set your time zone back to your "home" zone if you really need to use the guide.

I've got a fix in mind. Just got to find the time to implement it Big Grin
