Yeah. I can look at the logs if you want, to see if it was actually doing anything.
Thanks... I had a look at the main log file after it was processing for ~ 50 minutes and it was slowly chugging through updating channels... but at a rate that would've taken 8 or 10 hours to complete! It was adding channels I wouldn't watch anyway (the ubiquitous 24/7 channels) so I killed it.

It didn't change anything for the channels that were remapped off into hyperspace, so I'm assuming it's not the fix I'm looking for!

No worries... the workflow I mentioned earlier is tedious but it does the trick ... at least when I remember to do things in the right order! Wink ... and until I move to v5. I'm transitioning to a Win10 machine in the not-too-distant future and will probably start with v5. Hopefully it's not a steep learning curve for the semi-basic stuff I need from NextPVR. Cool

Of course, I'm not particularly chuffed with Win10... my laptop is chugging through the current update and after an hour it's still "Working on updates... 19%" Rolleyes

Hmm... perhaps it's just me, with a 'slow Windows' curse today! Tongue

Thanks again! Big Grin

Martin,

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep them in mind for the near future... moving to a Win10 machine sometime soon-ish, as mentioned in the reply above.

Cheers! Big Grin

I'm curious what it could possibly have been doing. It'd doesn't do anything that takes any time. If you want to PM me a link to the log, I can check. No worries if you'd prefer to just leave it.

It looks like the log was overwritten when I restarted the application... is that normal procedure?

Or is the older info in NPVR.log.1? Nope... I've opened log.1, log.2 and log.3 in Notepad and they all 'start' after I restarted NextPVR after killing the background process... Anywhere else to look?

Each time you restart the application it’ll create a new log file. If a file gets too big it’ll also roll over to a new file. So generally it keeps the last few logs, unless you’re generating heaps of logging. If your logs were filled, what were they filled with?

Can I PM/DM the logs zip? I'm not sure if any personal info is buried somewhere in one of the logs. Huh

Easiest way to do that is to share file on somewhere like dropbox or onedrive, and PM me the link.

Yea I have the same problem with channel mapping. It seems that the IPTV provider likes to change things every so often whereas it screws up my EPG. I have resorted to just deleting the IPTV channels and then re importing them. Then I edit the m3u File outside of Nextpvr. Time consuming and frustrating but that is what I have to do. I have tried to examine the m3u files to see what has changed but for the life on me I cannot tell what changed. This has been a large factor in not rolling out nextpvr on a large scale. I would have to do the programming changes for everyone I provide Nextpvr to. There has got to be a easier way but for the life of me I have not found one.
Thank you,

Bruce
