Sorry for the previous errors with the logs, can anyone take a look at them as per my last post please? Thanks
in advance.

I going to speculate this is just a standard issue getting the LCN that exists on v4 and v5 and is nothing new. Nothing is stopping your from editing the channel order manually.

actually present, but I don't have an npvr.log. The only log files I have are device-adapter and nrecord logs. My
win10 system also with Nextpvr has this log as expected, and I can see the lcn's. How can diagnosis of this
problem be pursued without an nprvr.log ?

npvr.log is created by nextpvr.exe that is only availale for Windows and receives data from the NextPVR recording serveice ... it is the recording service that produces the nrecord.log ... It is the recording service that talks to the tuners.

In previous reports ... the channel number problem has been diagnosed as being due to the scan ending too soon and failing to obtain the channel numbers from the broadcast stream ... Hence the suggestion to increase the scandroptime ... but ... changes to scandroptime have no affect on Linux ... I wait to be corrected but I suspect that the only currently available possible solution is to try repeated scans

On linux are you getting an adapter*.conf file when you do the scan? If so could you supply a zipped copy of the file. Again continuous re-scanning might be a sign of insanity, when you can just do manual numbering and naming.

I do have an adapter scan conf file as above link. Hope it might show some light. I am aware I
can manually edit the list, but that's a bypass not a solution. Thanks.

Given the LCN problem has existed for many years even with increased scan times that is basically something for sub. I could automate the conversion to LCN with a utility after the fact mapping the conf file to https://www.terrestrialtv.uk/dtt.php?reg=UK.ALL if you are interested in testing.

When I'm back home later today, I'll check the LCN scanning on the Linux version. (scanning is quite different to the Windows version)

Thanks for the offer Martin, I'm pressed for time at the moment but I'ld like to give your suggestion a try.
