As I mentioned, you can setup a shortcut, or run it from the command line with the following parameters:

nlite.exe -server:192.168.1.17:8866:0000

Quote:The thing I can't understand is that I have been using NextPVR for about 8 or 10 years and have always been able to run several computers at the same time.
But just today I have this problem where whenever one computer is running, the others are locked out. Can you think of anything that I might try to get back to where
I was with all computers capable of running at the same time. I am using a router and 2 HDHome Run units with a total of 6 channels.
Nothing has changed on that front. If you setup channels on a tuner, it assumes that tuner is available for NextPVR to use.

You've got options, like configuring the priority so that different machines are less likely to be trying to use the same time, or preferably dedicating some of those 6 tuners to NextPVR, and just don't setup tuners on a couple of tuners, which will remain available for other applications (or machines). If it's NextPVR you're running on those other machines, you'd probably better off just setting up the one server and getting nlite going as clients.

Currently, I am able to use any one of our 3 computers running NextPVR to watch and/or record TV.
But while one computer is watching and/or recording TV the other two computers are not able to view or record TV. The nlite and clients sounds like a good way to go, but I can't figure out how to set it up.

If you only have one server running, just run nlite.exe without any parameters unless your pin is not 0000

Martin

I must be doing something wrong, I downloaded the client zip file, unzipped it and ran NLite, but all it will do is say "No NextPVR servers were detected on the network"

Is your network all on the same subnet? If so can you connect to the web server from the machine you are using with nlite?

My TV cable goes to my router and to both Homerun tuners. The 2 cable card Homerun tuners are connected to the router.
I don't understand subnet?

Don't worry we can assume they are on 192.168.1.xx

From the machine you are running nlite can you use the web browser to talk to the server? I know one of the was 192.168.1.33

By server, are you referring to my router?

No, I mean the PC where NextPVR is running. Can you connect via http://ip:8866 from the PC where you run nlite.

If you don't know the IP send the logs from where NextPVR is running.
