The issue recurred this morning at ~10:12 while recording "The Price is Right."  No guide update was running at the time.  The PC was not in use other than NextPVR recording.  How/where would I review the log to check for a possible signal strength or other issue? The guide should have updated at 9:09:00. I have modified the guide updates to run once / day in the early afternoon.

NextPVR indicates it is still recording, but only the first ~12 minutes are viewable.  Attempting to open the second tuner on Live TV returns "Unable to find capture device (Device failed to start)".  System interrupts are hovering between 6-7%.

Signal strength isn't the problem I see, one of your tuners wasn't working

2024-05-30 10:27:27.817 [DEBUG][5] Failed to start device: 0x8007001f
2024-05-30 10:27:27.817 [ERROR][5] Device failed to start

The other tuner might have failed after it started, if you zip up the timing file that was created with The Price is Right and attach it, it might show us something.

Of note The Price is Right was the next recording after an EPG update, I still think you should try the free SD trial to see if it is a tuner is issue or not. I thought the DeviceHost was supposed to exact after an EPG but that migh be in Windows.

Ok.  Whatever occurred to the card and tuners seems to have happened while recording since the recording started.  I rebooted the system and both tuners are working again.  Maybe I need to pitch the PCIe card and go back to the USB tuner.  In the back of my mind, I also wonder if this motherboard is having an issue with its PCIe slot.  I have multiple HVR 2250 card and can swap out (again) if needed.  Have already swapped once.

I looked at SD this morning.  I now have EPG updates shut off entirely and will launch them manually until this is figured out.  Long term, I prefer to donate the $$ to NextPVR and use the free OTA EPG guide, if I can get things working and stable.

Two timing files are attached - one before the reboot and the one after.  Only the first 12-13 minutes were viewable for the first recording. Adding a THANK YOU for your continued help and ideas Martin!

OK since the file seems split into two, could you resend the logs? Is it possible you have two instances of NextPVR writing to you V drive?

I can, but I anticipate the two files are a result of the reboot ~10:42.  I did the reboot while the recording was still in progress, then it picked back up after the reboot.  The updated log export is attached.

Thanks that is cleaner. Are you sure the first recording is only 12 minutes long? That could be coming from the timing and thumb file. If you rename the timing and thumb files does that change anything?

Martin.

Here are screenshots from the desktop app - the recording view shows 9:59-10:42 for the first file.  However, when played, it only shows 00:00:00 - 00:12:48 in the timing bar at the bottom of playback.  I can try renaming the files (rename the file name, its extension, or both?), but it still seems something is wrong with the data. The first .ts file is only 12:48 when played back in Media Player.

The .ts file still only reads 12:48 after removing the thumbnails and timing files, both in the NextPVR GUI and in Windows Media Player.

Is the filesize around 1046047416 bytes?
