Robotic audio in Chromium browsers (Firefox, Kodi and Android work correctly)

Yes, this issue also happens for playing recordings. The time intervals for the issue to happen are random even playing back the same recordings. Follow is the link to the recording. Hopefully it can help to diagnostic this issue.

If you just start playback in the web browser, does it give you this robotic audio? or does it only appear after a period of time, or just at short periods at random times?

I have had a quick look try here, but the audio sounded fine in my Chrome browser. I didn't leave it playing for too long though.

Looking at the web/temp file that recording does suffer from the same error issue https://pastebin.com/U3sHeV7Z, so my earlier recommendations still stands.

I did not notice some block of audio silence in the segment on the ballerinas on both Firefox and Chrome.

No, when the playback starts, it doesn't give the robotic audio. The robotic audio happens just after a random period of time. Usually dozens of minutes. It can take an hour for the robotic audio to occur. I recorded the video for about 40 minutes for the robotic audio to occur. However, when I tested the recording playback, it only took about 20 minutes to occur.

Thanks Martin. I know nothing about DTV signals. So my digital TV signal is not clean which maybe caused by the amplified over-the-air signal. Anyway, I am happy with my current Kodi setup with the NextPVR addon . Based on my tests, I believe that it's not a bug of NextPVR but rather an unusual interaction with the NextPVR server and the Chrome-based browsers. Just reckon that this issue is interesting and want to let you guys know.

I think the ballerina sound problem was 20 minutes in or so.

HDHR mode is more reliable in general still worth a try

Can you please explain what HDHR mode is? Is it a setting in the NextPVR web interface? I just installed the HDHomeRun drivers and let NextPVR auto-detect my tuner then scan for channels and didn't find any HDHomeRun related setting. Oh, by the way there are HDHR tuners in the Devices page. However, my HDHomeRun tuner is a old model (HDHR3-DT) and I can't use HDHR devices. Do you mean HDHR mode is to use the HDHR tuners instead of DVB-T tuners?

I would like to take back my words about unable to use the HDHR device. I can use the HDHR device after installing the driver from Silicondust. Without the driver installed, starting a live TV from the HDHR device only has "Starting device. Please wait." message displayed. However, after deleting the DVB-T device and scanned channels for the HDHR devices, robotic audio still happens.

That's odd, usually you need to install the HDHR app to load the BDA drivers for the DVB-T tuner. Then again I don't know that older DVB-T device. Still worth checking with them to monitor the signal.

I was wrong about the time for the Anastasia ballerina scene it is around 9 minutes in, the time reported by NextPVR in the web browser is wrong. In the browser on Firefox and Chrome it stalls but with uiclient.html it is unwatchable on both. I think that issue is recording specific though.

Yes, I find it's odd as well. I installed HDHomeRun app from Microsoft app store without installing any BDA drivers and I can watch live TV with the app. I thought that the driver should have been installed together with the HDHomeRun app. However, when I was setting up NextPVR, I realized that I have had to installed the "HDHomeRun" software (which contains the BDA driver for my tuner, I believe) first.

I misunderstood your statement. Yes, the ballerina scene is about 9 minutes in. Strangely, if I dragged the timeline bar, the time showed of the scene would be about 20 minutes.

Oh, just for your information. I want to confirm that Firefox doesn't exhibit this issue so I tested Firefox continuously for over seven hours this morning. It never developed robotic audio. Instead, it occasionally had a brief video breakup accompanied by a very short audio chirp, after which playback immediately recovered.

If you start the UI Client on the main settings page in Firefox let it and start that news recording hit 9 right arrow and let it play until it plays oddly is that what you mean by robotic audio?
