ill try and implement it into my music after i fix my videos, i will only probably do the lookup when a cd is ripped (since most cd rippers grab the album art anyway, most things should already have cover art, and i dont want to add a popup menu to my music).

Can't you make some option (black button on the hauppauge remote?) that grabs the info? 'Cos I have already ripped most of my cd's and I don't really want to do it again

It would just be nice to be able to read a bit about the album and see the release date and so on.

if i can find a unused button ill probably do this, im cant remember what buttons mymusic uses and doesnt use (ill probably do a resultset like with imdb searches so you can pick the album, wont do best guess, well first found, it might do that for a cd rip thou).

just to let everyone ive started working on tv.com, but the way there have set things up, might make episode lookup impossible (well like 90% failure) so might have to scrap this feature.

ill still be able to do the episode browse, but even that may need to be tweaked every once in awhile (by manually entering a url for the show in a xml file).

early days though, should be out in about a week (of course for me that probably means a 2 days....)

good news
i managed to get episode lookup to work (thats the one where you just hit lookup and it returns the info, you dont have to find it in a list, and you can use it in scan mode). for the first episode it will be slower (it has to parser the episode guide, build a list of episodes and their urls, then for every other episode it basically just reuses the table, so infact it should now be faster than before).

im also experimenting with cache control (tv.com generates their pages on the fly, well im pretty sure they do, so the if-modified-since header isnt giving me much joy, so using a 24 hour cache system, where if you downloaded the page in the last 24 hours, it still considered fresh). with this im able to download (just with a cached episode guide) like 22 episodes in about 20-30seconds.

oh by using the episode guide, and not "google im feeling lucky" im gettting like 100% successfull/correct results in episode lookup.

so maybe tv.com wasnt so bad after all

well im sick of programming for tonight, i might have a test version out tomorrow.
