From gbpvr.exe.log:

-----------------
8/13/2005 12:29:26 AM.453 VERBOSE [2] Switching to channel: 37 (2 WPBT)
8/13/2005 12:29:31 AM.453 VERBOSE [2] Switching to channel: 18 (72 HALMRK)
8/13/2005 12:29:37 AM.500 VERBOSE [2] Stopping recording oid:6
8/13/2005 12:29:37 AM.640 VERBOSE [2] PreviewLiveTV(47)
8/13/2005 12:29:37 AM.640 VERBOSE [2] PreviewLiveTV() done
8/13/2005 12:29:37 AM.640 VERBOSE [2] RecordingFactory.loadInProgressRecordingList()
8/13/2005 12:29:37 AM.640 VERBOSE [2] in progress recording = 1
8/13/2005 12:29:43 AM.453 VERBOSE [2] PreviewLiveTV(18)
8/13/2005 12:29:43 AM.453 VERBOSE [2] PreviewLiveTV() done
8/13/2005 12:29:43 AM.453 VERBOSE [2] DirectRecordingSource::getPreviewGraph(72)
8/13/2005 12:29:45 AM.015 VERBOSE [2] Received event code: 14
-----------------
The sequence of events was
1. select channel 2 WPBT ............OK
2. select channel 72 HALMRK ........OK
3. select channel 135 BBC America..NG

But there does not appear to be any indication that it tried to go to 135. There is only one satellite input so I thought it might be that there was no source available --- but nothing is recording or scheduled to record on the satellite right now.

If you've got MS Access on you machine, open the gbpvr.mdb file and check how many columns its got and what their names are. Its sounds like you have one missing. One was added in this release, but I havn't heard any reports of this affecting anyone else.

If you dont have access, zip and email to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

That was it. I compaired the old the new and they where different, So I went ahead and installed the newer-new version, and its working like a charm!

I guess I should have tried that the first sign of trouble.

thanks again.

jsteel, there isnt really enough information in the snippet of log to tell. Try email a complete of logs to me at support@devnz.com. Include in the email the exact time you tried to switch to the satellite channel so I know where in the logs to look.

I reinstalled last night for another problem --- this is the fourth re-install --- and the USB-UIRT is working now!

Thanks anyway
John

Aawww! That's like telling a child not to touch wet paint. Big Grin

They released a new version of the Nova-t drivers a few days ago - I'm guessing they wouldn't fix the problem?

Will the Hauppauge Muxer (when available) record to mpeg format? The dvr-ms approach is nice and stable but the drawback is the inability to use Resume on recordings played back on the MVP (it's OK - I've warned the wife Smile ).

Cheers,
Brian

Yeah, unfortunately thats probably going to stay that way in the future for these types of files on the MVP.

OK thanks.

On another subject - did you add the API to play a PLS file from a plug-in?
