Cheers Blader
A few small observations ... 1. Section B. MUXERS should this be Big, Blue and bold too? 2. "i." in section A ... should this be black and bold too? 3. Fullstop after "(Simple to use)." (mea culpa) 4. HT components.â .. has an end quote but no start quote? (mea culpa too) 5. (To be confirmed) is STILL to be confirmed. I got my old error back this morning (darn it) and I deregistered the HTMPGMux.ax and it didn't seem to default to the WinDVD Creator mux, so it MAY be that this works for the Plextor Devices but not the Lifeview ones. We'll see and I'll get back to you on that. Will see if I can snaffle the Mux out of some other updated HT program, and if that works. Cheers and THANKS! k.

The quotes (a single starting one on the 'If someone says âregister...' line as well) where there to be as close to the original author as possible. Don't know who to blame for the other misstakes though :o
I just saw that you don't have edit rights on the wiki. I certainly don't want to force people into becomming a wiki editor, but... you know... if you want to... sort of compensating for not writing FAQ's anymore... or something... well, if you feel the urge just mail me... ![]() blader_se Wrote:I just saw that you don't have edit rights on the wiki. I certainly don't want to force people into becomming a wiki editor, but... you know... if you want to... sort of compensating for not writing FAQ's anymore... or something... well, if you feel the urge just mail me... Urghh ... Just ask sub, you do not want me making FAQs on this sort of stuff! Having said that, I do need to edit that FAQ, as the bit I wrote as "(To be confirmed)" is NOW confirmed and is NOT as I had hoped. Sub also confirmed it. These are the changes I need to make: Changed Text 1 Basically the line "(whilst this is the general rule, if it doesn't find the HT ones, it'll look for the Intervideo ones.) " is incorrect and should be deleted. (The Lifeview uses the HT ones ONLY. I tried it, it does NOT use the Intervideo Mux. Presumably the Plextor device ONLY uses the Intervideo Mux.) It should read: "The Plextor devices ship with Intervideo WinDVD Creator, from which GB-PVR uses the Intervideo audio encoder and mux. Even though Lifeview offer MPEG4, these devices aren't that great compared to the Hauppauge devices, which do everything in hardware" Changed Text 2 The line "You can ALSO install WinDVD CREATOR which will install another compatible Mux. The Trial Version will work fine." is incorrect and should be deleted. It should read: i. The TVWalker uses the HTMpgMux.ax installed with the TVR Software as the Muxer. Muxers that are used are Tuner Card or rather chip specific. The Cyberlink PowerDVD or Intervideo's WinDVD or Showshifter Muxers that work on BDA Devices will NOT work with the TV Walker, so don't think if its OK in the Muxchecker for the BDA devices it will work! Changed Text 3 (InterVideo OR HT). Changed Text 4 DELETE THIS LINE COMPLETELY. It is plain WRONG. iii. IF HTMPGMux gives you an error, just de-register it and it will default to the WinDVD CREATOR Mux. (To be confirmed). Actually I think you need to give me editing rights for this. I need to reword it so it does NOT look like (a) the Lifeview CAN use the Intervideo MUX (It cannot) (b) That the Plextor also has the HT Mux supplied (it does NOT) © That if WinDVD Creator is installed ALL GO7007SB devices will work with that Mux (They will NOT, at least the Lifeview TVWalker MINI GO7007SB device will not). k. |
