jerry430 Wrote:Sub, in your Survival Guide, you recommend backing up the config.xml & gbpvr.mdb files before upgrading. In post #197, you indicate:
"You cant copy the gbpvr.mdb or config.xml from a different release. These files are not portable between releases (and never have been in the past)."
If these files can't be copied to a new release, what is the reason for backing them up?
The only reason I suggest backing them up is incase something goes wrong, and you need to get your data back, in which case, you'd be able install the old version and restore the files - effectively getting you back to where you started before the upgrade to v0.97.7.

I just did the upgrade, and my IR Blaster (200L) dosen't seem to be working. it was working in the previous version. I know that GBPVR can interact with it, because I re-trained it just in case, and that worked fine. But, now it seems that it dosen't want to change the channel at all. I go to the guide and select a program and "watch", or just go to live tv. No changing of channel (dosen't even look like it tries).

I've checked the config, and it is set up to use the blaster, and a fixed channel. The channel that the Directv box is tuned to at the time seems to work fine.

Any suggestions?

Sub, compliments again. I had some time to try out this new version, it works great. One thing especially: It starts up very quickly now, only a few seconds. The old version took more then 30 sometimes 50 secs. I always thought that was because of the big MP3-collection in ML2.
I still haven't completely figured out the photo-library, but I will.Big Grin

This just means you havnt defined the OSDTEXT style in skin\OSD\skin.xml. If you look in blue\osd\skin.xml you'll see them.

This can be safely ignored. Its only checking if it is installed on your machine. Its only actually used if you're using a digital capture card (ATSC/DVB).

Hi,

Like a couple of other people have reported, I can't play back MPG files after upgrading to 0.97.7 (naturally, this screws up timeshift tv mode too). Sound's OK, but no Video.

AVI's are fine, so is TV in Live Preview mode. Any recordings I make with 0.97.7 are viewable with WMPlayer, so it seems to be a specific 0.97.7 MPG playback problem.

Log for playback is attached. I've tried using GraphEdit with the 7 filters listed in the log and found the following:

(i) If I use the "GB-PVR file source", it refuses to connect to the "MPEG-2 Demultiplexer"
(ii) If I replace this with the standard "File Source (Async)" it connects and plays.
(iii) If I go back to the "GB-PVR file source", it will connect to (and play)
the "Moonlight-Elecard MPEG2 Demux" (in place of the standard one).

Don't know if this just a Red Herring!

Other than this, no problems with the upgrade.

It guessing its something the moonlight/elecard demux is doing to try to force itself to be the default demux. I dont know for sure though. I've not seen any other reports similar to this.

I de-registered the Moonlight/Elecard mux, but still no joy. Everything was working fine with 0.96.12.

Should the GB-PVR File Source be able to connect to the MPEG-2 Demux?
