Should the GB-PVR File Source be able to connect to the MPEG-2 Demux?

I would have thought so, but maybe not. Its not something I've actually tried, and not something that actually happens in the normal day to day operation of GB-PVR.

The GB-PVR File Source is only used for timeshift mode tv, or playing files that are still recording.

You can emulate when GB-PVR does in graphedit. Start with a empty graph then insert the MPEG-2 Demultiplexer, then selecting 'render media file' and browsing to an .mpg file. If you config GB-PVR to use specific decoders, you'd need to also insert these prior to the render.

Works fine in GraphEdit. Have also re-confirmed it works if I roll back to v0.96.12

I guess I must have one of those annoying filter compatibility problems- so I'll have to hope things start working with a complete machine rebuild.

Thanks for the help,
Tim

You could try editing config.xml and setting <PreferredMpegPlaybackDemux></PreferredMpegPlaybackDemux> to see if it makes any difference on your setup.

Not sure whether this is in here already or not, but it can't hurt restating it in such case. I had problems starting gbpvr after the upgrade. Tried disabling all the plugins, to no avail. What worked for me was to actually remove the plugin dllConfused from the Plugins directory. Don't know which one was causing the problems, but one of them obviously did...
I'm not always right

Ok folks, this is turning into one really long thread that is difficult to track individual issues, so I'm going close the thread. Just post any questions/problems in the support forum. If there is any specific issue posted here that you want to follow up on, just quote the text in a new support post.
