I noticed that there are 2802 entries in my _SeriesIDs.txt file. This is suspiciously close to the 2903 in the error message which is outside of your expected range.

According to the screen snap, you actually started. So I don't think that it was any of your adjustments... I'll have another go at finding that...

I changed Logging to NUTS and it didn't have anything else that might be of help in it.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Life goes on.
A little bit of thinking and I know what happened.

Basically since I'm maintaining the master file, I was close to being up to date. You were more than 100 records short of the matser file, and without getting into it, that WAS a bad thing...

A solution would be to delete you file, have Ultra download a new series.xml. But that's not the solution... I will have a work around up in the next few minutes. should be OK. I'l work on making it pretty tomorrow...

Hi-Ho. Hi-Ho. A-breakin' we will go.....

I have been wondering why you have been struggling so much with the determination of the Original Air Date. I think I found your problem, or at least where it is becoming a problem.

The first screen snap shows a program listing that airs on March 25 but it shows the original date as being March 26. Now I know you suspected that this type of behavior was due to some crazy Canadian thing but I am in California and we have our own crazy things and don't need to use yours, thank you very much.

The next cap shows the xml file BEFORE you enhance it. Notice that the Start Time is 0326 with 0000 GMT offset, while the DATE record is 20090325. I'm not sure how you manage to put the program in the right place (March 25) with this information.

The third screen cap is the XML file from Pocket TV Browser for the same program. Note the program start time/date in the program record.

Update: Don't worry about differences like the ACTOR records for the guest stars or the category being "fashion". These are things I do in my processing of the XML file so they can be displayed in my PDA. There is a reason why Law & Order is classified as a 'fashion' show but that takes a bit more explanation that isn't relevant to the issue being discussed.

One more piece of "evidence" for your Orig Air Date problem.

Ignore for the moment that the screen caps are from TV Listings. I'm sure TV Guide would give the same results.

Note that I have hilighted two instances of the same program/episode two hours apart in the listings. One shows the original air date as "tomorrow" and the second shows it as "today". The one with "today" for the orig air date has the asterisk to show it is a first run. That is understandable. Just solve the orig air date issue and the asterisk will take care of itself.

When "Write to file immediately" is selected entries are fine. When not select (default) all of the entries have the same date/time. It would probably be better if they had the actual date/time stamp of the entry.

XML File:
I noticed with this latest version on of the first steps after clicking GO is to re-write the XML file. I'm not sure why it now needs to be rewritten. But should it not be re-writing a temp file and not modifying your original XML file. If the application were to crash during this process then the original XML would be lost.

Also, what about the idea on doing any writing of temp files to the %TEMP% folder instead of the path the application is launched from. This would assist with anyone running from a USB stick like me .

Good idea about logging

The rewrite is for compatibility with the UK guide (birtles/Radio Time) which is in an unreadable state when downloaded. The original needs to be rewritten, ot else the rest don't work., Oh sure I could do copying and temp file and such, but the original is much better. !!!! hah

I will be making an option whether the is a rewrite or not, depending on certain guides...

Some tweaks.

XML Rewrite is actually more of a troubleshooting feature, so it's disabled by default and now on the TS tab...

Log events that are held in memory (rather than write 2 file immediately) have correct date stamps...
