I have a hard time recreating this. I have seen this trouble: I'm watching the show getting downloaded and a few seconds later the same show is downloaded over and over. Of course that shouldn't be happening.

I would look at the cache and see if there are two versions of the show, one regular and one ended. Next I would check the SeriesID txt file and confirm that there is only one entry for that show. Let me know.

When there are two episodes.xmls the program is supposed to be deleting the regular one (assuming that if it existed as an ended show, then it's probably ended) in favour of the 'ended' one.

No luck. In the cache there is only one entry for each show and the same thing in the SeriesID.txt file.

Anything you want me to try? like set my logging to a higher level?

This happened again in the overnight processing.

I set logging to NUTS and reran Ultra.

I tried to attach is the Log plus the XML Before Processing file. Unfortunately, the XML was too big. I'll email it to you.

When did you sneak this in? This is the detailed listing for a show at the bottom of the screen in TV Listings.

I'm not complaining. It's just that I never noticed the "New!" before.

I like this. Unfortunately I don't have that show listed in my XML so now I'm going to have to going hunting so see it in my guide. Sad

I'm not sure if this is an Ultra thing or not. Is you enhanced XML any different for this show compared to previous XML files?

Guys... The New gif is from TVListings and xmltvextras. The latest version, I exposed the correct values to xmltvextras. Now, all New Shows will have the New Gif.. There's other things you can do with the video and audio tags too, and we can talk about that, maybe in another thread. True TV Listings is very cool.

I do want to say though, that this will not do away with the * new show indicator. GB-PVR doest actually use the New Tag, to schedule It uses the *

Release: 2.0.3370.22840

Thanks LewE for helping me find that bug...

I changed some logging too. Basically, you should not have to use 'Nuts' unless your are trying to find a needle in the haystack. I think I willl tell you when it's time to turn that on, considering I had to go through 27000 lines in the log to find what was wrong this time.

I recommend settings the logging level to Medium now. It will catch fecthes, and New SeriesIDs. It won't bother you with "Found an 'Ended' show, I'm skipping... type of log entries. Just the ones that need your attention.

Write to file Immediately can be off.

If you are having a problem, then settings to nuts and write2file on helps alot, especially as I've added a Puase button, so you can look at the log right there and then...

K, I need some help deciding on some cosmetic changes.

Many of you have learned how to use it, and may even be dismayed when I decide to move a button or checkbox around.

I moved the orig, new XMLTV, and log buttons to the TS tab as the user really shouldn't need to open those files..

I would be interested in hearing what else I could move from the first tab.

The second tab isn't really a Title tab anymore. It's kinda a Misc, where special parameters not on the Tags tab are found...

I have a wee bit work to do on the SeasEp Tab. Mostly to give an intermediate user, and understanding of why it's there at all; give it purpose.

The Cache tab could do with some tidying. In fact it might do with full removal. I'm not quite sure.

A person should be able to select a show to Don't fetch, Delete it's episode file (to force a new download). They should be able to add remove Categories (which decreases the amount of lookups). And they should be able to upload and download (though I'm feeling better about the auto stuff, so I just might hide those buttons...)

The Channels tab, will have a few more features added, but I'm thinking of hiding the stuff and then working on that in 2.1 beta...

Here's my quick thoughts. They are partially based on your getting out a Version 2.0 for the masses so work can begin on Version 2.1 independently.

Two goals: Making the screens easier to understand/use by the novice user and staying away from those parts of the program that haven't had the thorough testing yet.

Main Tab: Place a Group Box around the xmltv.xml file identifiers, Go/Pause/Stop Buttons, Commit Changes check box, the status message, and Processing Time message. I like using group boxes to help user see which items are related.
If the identification of the grabber file (currently on the TS tab) is needed to initially configure Ultra then move it to the tab just below the xmltv.xml file identification. Alternatively, I would move both of the file identification boxes to the TS tab. See comment below.

Move the Donate button just below this group box. If you move the xmltv.xml file identification box to another tab (see below) you will have more room to position what remains.
Titles tab: Rename to "Misc". Also, clarify whether the admonition "You must 'Save' for any changes on this tab" applies to changes on the whole tab or just the Title group that the button is sort of inside.

Tags Tab: no comment.

Season/Ep tab: Gray out or hide this tab for Release 2.0. I know I have pretty much stayed away from this tab so I don't think it has been shaken out as much as the basic tabs. Leaving it until 2.1 will give it time to be abused by us. Big Grin

TS Tab: Split into two tabs. The first would be labelled "Maintenance" and would contain everything above the "TVListings/XMLTVExtra" button. The boxes to identify the xmltv.xml file which is currently on the Main tab could be moved here. Actually this tab then becomes dedicated to interfacing with the rest of GBPVR (XMLTV.xml and EPG) so another name like "Interface" or "Linking" or something like that might be appropriate.

Add a Troubleshooting tab: This would contain the bottom part of the current TS tab. It could be labelled clearly that this is for Advanced Users Only. The "Open Log" button could be moved ot the Mtce tab from the new Troubleshoot tab.

You have some very good ideas. And many are related to hiding iffy features for the masses and then working again on beta in 2.1.

OK. I will be playing a bit. Keep the ideas coming...
