Oh also, if you don't mind having a microATX board, the Coolermaster ATCs case is pretty nice. I like it's simple looks and it blends great with the rest of my A/V equipment. I have a quiet Antec SL400 PSU in it and all fans (including cpu fan) are 80mm Panaflo quiet model. I'm very happy with how quiet it is Smile

Where is all the stuff that's supposed to be on it?
It's a heat sink & a 3 capacitors.

It's as bare as a realtek LAN card. Smile

You're talking about the video card or the motherboard? On the video card, maybe everything is embedded in the gpu on the 6200... so no external tv-out chip is needed, i'm guessing. I like that the memory has heatsinks on it as well. Some of the cheaper 6200s just have one on the GPU.

Ricklous it's a cool site about the mini-tix projects. When I get some more time I will for sure get back to that. Especaly the 1970 National TV is cool.

It seems that the MSI K7N2GM2 mobo not is sold in Denmark. I have ordered an MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum, which I want to test with the FX5200 and the PVR350. The ATC 9250 card will be delivered back tomorrow, as I have the impression that it dosen't offer more than the FX5200. I hope the get clarified which video card fits GBPVR.

Nvidia 6200 was mentioned as posibility. I'm looking forward to read about experincen from Torque and ddrawley.

Regarding cases: I have looked at Coolermaster too. The 'CoolerMaster Cavalier 4' is for ATX mobo (I have ordered an ATX mobo). Silverstone looks interesting too.

I am wondering about how to use the remote for turning the pc on/off, but I think this should be discussed in a new thread.
Best regards

The graphics card. It looks like just a chip & card. I'm not saying that's bad, I'm just not used to seeing that on a graphics card.

By the way - I forgot to ask in the first place.

Which video cards supports VMR9 (under GBPVR config. playback). My impression is that VMR9 is better than VMR7 and overlay. However, I don't what it is.

I have now installed a new mobo (MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum).
All problems with code 10 - PVR350 could not be started, have been solved. Big Grin
Thus, the problem was the Asrock mobo with VIA chipset.

I can also conclude that the ATI 9250 worked better than my FX5200 video card. The FX5200 is resulting in small diagonally lines on the TV picture.
My FX5200 now works with VMR9, which wasn't possible with the old mobo.

However, not all is perfect. I have some problems with Maxtor SATA HD. I have not managed to read the data from it and make it bootable Sad . It is divided into at 20 GB system partition and a 280 GB storage partition.
The system is now installed on a 80 GB normal IDE HD and it works fine.
The new mobo recognizes 280 GB, but wants to format it.

Does someone know a way to recover data from a SATA HD?
Further more I want to get access to all 300 GB. Which tool can fix that?
Best regards

The reading I have been able to pull together indicates that the S-Video and Composite out of the NVidia 6xxx series is superior to the 5xxx series. I didn't find this out until after I bought a 5200.
I still do not have clear data or personal experience that confirms a 6200TC (Turbo Cache) will get the job done for GB-PVR. The prices on these are very good.

I think the simple answer for quality and future quality for nVidia cards is right in the driver release notes. They really aren't doing or adding much to the 5000 series cards anymore.

It's not a bad thing, as there's probably a limit to what they can tap into w/ them. I'm sure they're admittedly not spending as much time on them anymore, too. The 5000 series is great basic vid-out card, imho. If I were stepping up to HD, I would probably put more thought into it.

Gigabyte GA-E7UM-DS2H
2x2gb DDR2 800
Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 350
Hauppauge HVR 1600 (74041)
Toshiba Desktar 160gb IDE (system/progs)
Toshiba Deskstar 250gb IDE (media/backup)
Windows 7

Sorry if this seems random or is late to the show, but about the geforce 6200...

http://www.beyond3d.com/previews/nvidia/6200/

They go into video performance, cpu usage, etc... a little later in that review. They also go into the tech in that card as well.
