Hello,

I follow this forum pretty closely, even though I am currently using my MVP with BTV and the MVP BTV "skin". I'm pretty happy with the setup, but am considering GB-PVR because it seems to offer more control over the transcoding process. For instance the ability to use filters like AVSynth and FFDSHOW to alter the video stream (resize and change framerate) before it hits the MVP.

In this thread Sub has mentioned that he uses the standard Hauppauge MVP code to do the transcoding. I'm I missing something here. Can I in fact us the add filters to the transcoding process without using GB-PVR?

No I didnt say that. I said "It doesnt natively support divx, instead their newer software includes components to do server side transcoding to MPEG2 - much like GB-PVR does.". I use entirely different server-side components.

So no, you cannot use GB-PVR extra transcoding features in your BTV setup.

My mistake. Thanks for the quick response sub. I guess I'll have to give GB-PVR another look.

Seems like the only change to the new MVP is adding 802.11g, it still doesn't play divx natively. Goes on sale this month for $150.

According to the USA site the Euro SCART MVP (current one) is RGB output.

Many Thanks
