The skin is incomplete. I got frustrated with the constraints of the skinning system.

The time/date was part of the problem. The only way to get the formatting that I used is to change your regional settings for time and date from within the control panel.

I have a greater appreciation for the GBPVR skinners now that I've tried my hand at it. I had intended the skin be a duplicate of the Meedio version of the skin, but the limitations put on the skinner was just too much to overcome. While GBPVR is a fine product, the truth is that the skinning system is far behind the likes of Media Portal and the illfaited Meedio.

You could create the look you wanted using the va panel. It lets you specify the time, date, and day of week as three seperate elements in the skin. The date format is settable via the config app in 19 different formats, some of which include the day and some of which do not. You don;t have to change the system setting.

Jeff, that is true, but I was trying to design the skin to not be dependent on other plugins and only use the core program. Of course I had planned to make accomodations for the additional plugins. I didn't want to make it 'mandatory' to have any specific plugin though. That's where some of problems arose.

Just download and install the plugin and let me say what a great plugin it is and thanks for the good work. BTW, how do you change the display unit, ie. KM instead of Miles and C instead of F.

You can change the units in the config app. You can also change them on the fly using the fast forward key (^F). Note that the config setting applies always; the FF key just applies to the curernt instance of GBPVR.
