Screen saver plugin - Beta testers required

The 1.X version of commonGBPVRUtilities.dll is compiled for .net 1.0. It does not play well will the .net 2.0 version of GBPVR.

The 3.X version is compiled for .net 2.0. It should play well wil lthe new version of gbpvr. As to 2.X, I don;t know why I skipped it, but for some reason I did.

Currently the 3.X version of commonGBPVRUtilities.dll is only distrbuted as part of the latest release of the video archive plug-in. I need to find a time to rebuild the distbutions for weather and the music player. I am using them at home on the 3.x commonGBPVRUtilities.dll and they work fine.

As all of my plugins use commonGBPVRUtilities, which in turn use commonGBPVRUtilities. Is it time I upgraded to 97.7 and .net 2.0?

If this is the case I would need v3.x of commonGBPVRUtilities to be installed along with the plugin(s). Jeff, when do you think this will be on the wiki? Or shall I just download the VA plugin and inlude the commonGBPVRUtilities dll in the plugin zip?

I got Calendar, Files, and weather working again by dragging GBPVRUIElements.dll version 1.0.2242.26693 from a backup...

now the screensaver plugin doesnt work, error message:

Error:Method not found: 'Void GBPVRUiElements.List..ctor (GBPVR.Public.SkinHelper, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String)'

Presume this is cos im now using an older version?

If so, c'est la vie i guess! :-> I'll just wait till the other stuffs all updated and then see if i can have them all working at the same time...

Yes, this is the case. What version of common utils are you using?

Think its time to take the plunge and install VS 2005 and GBPVR 97.7, and move to .net 2.0... :eek:

I've just upgraded my devlopment machine to .net 2.0 and GBPVR 97.7 to see whats going on with the new version of common utls and my plugins. I've found its just one method that needs the VA database. Attached is a .net 2.0 version of the screensaver plugin which also avoids the common utls issue. (it still needs UI elements 0.4)

Screensaver plugin is working well for me. I am still using the very first version posted.



I have noticed the screensaver plug-in and the music library visualisations sort of clash a bit.

I have visualisations playing during music and when the screensaver kicks in I get thrown back to the main menu with neither screensaver nor visualisation. The good news in the music keeps playing.

It might be more a question for Sub - can the screensaver call be disabled during music playback? (obviously it is during video playback ad live TV)

Overall the screensaver plugin is working well for me. I am still using the very first version posted. (Still running Version 0.9612 if that is relevant - just haven't has a chance to upgrade yet.)

Time screensaver

Here is an idea for a time/clock screensaver.

The screensaver could present an analog clock with configurable background in the skin. (match the theme design)

Syncronize time with/to NTP server

Present world times .
See enclosed ZIP for a cool worldtime flash that I found in a Meedio skin....look at the readme. I dont know anything about the righs for that flash.

Hello.
I just tested the screensaver plugin on v0.97.9
The picture slideshow works very well.
I was simply disappointed because I expected a random selection of the pictures (I have 6Gb of family pics to be displayed...).

Is this possible?
