I just think the standard blue could be made into a nice looking skin theme with all our help. I don't know about you and the rest of the gang of 3. But I know I might not be around forever making skins... If little tipstir comes out next year (hoping that would happen Smile then I'll spend my time more with little tipstir) Well not going to name it little tipstir just using that as a point of reference.

Regretfully, I find the pace of this thread to quick for me.

I share the desire to merge AM and Advisor but would like to have the time to deliberate the issues. Also, I beleive that our primary focus should be on enhancing the end-user's experience when using GBPVR. Admittedly, making life easier for skinners is probably a distant second.

As was suggested earlier, I have an image based version of Blue. I would like to take the time for us to tear it apart and put it back together. This should keep us busy, teach us a few things, and give us time for deliberation. Hopefully the end product will be useful. Is anyone willing?

That is where you like to call us "the gang of 3" were going. Trying to develope a simple image based version to replace blue even if it looks the same. Now the complexity can be full bore AM Themepack compatible, or minimal.

BTW, Planning a Tipstir 1.0? Good luck and best wishes with that.

Thanks.. I will annouce more when that happens.... If you need help just ask.. GBPVR is getting more complex which is not a bad thing. I guess your AM packs will be there in the future... The Gang of 3 will mostly be here...

Can't have one without the other I'm afraid. What good is AM, Advisor, Base Skin, Chameleon, etc., to me (the user) if it doesn't support insert all your favorite plugins here? Frankly, not much use at all.

Don't worry Sensi. Talk is cheap. You know I can throw words out faster than almost anybody. I don't see anything turning the world on its flat edges any time soon.

I believe we can accomplish both, enhancing the end-user's experience and aiding plugin developers and skinners. I think they go hand in hand. MixMan hasn't chimed in today so he may have wrinkles to toss in. I will look at your Blue-AM and see where you messed up.Big Grin Just kidding.

I think the best thing to do is focus on the Main Menu, the baseskin.xml, and one standard library plugin instead of everything at once.

Actually, what needs doing hasn't really changed. We are still going to create, size and position graphics; instead of doing it in a text editor, we will be doing it in a gaphics editor. From what I have seen, you should be right at home!

Best Regards,
David

Before you get started, use AM and turn off all the graphics, just to get a peek at the content layout.
Then lets allow time to decide together what to focus on. Is there a hurry?

I don't need to do this, I know what you are getting at.Wink
You need to tell others how to turn those graphics off.:p

Tell me, how do you turn off list boxes if you want the same background? How do you change listboxes independantly from the background?

Both methods can co-exsist. One doesn't need to exclude the other.
Lets not revist that topic for a while. You can hear the eyes glazing over.

My skin has been a work in process for months and is not done. For some reason, I don't hurry in that department.
The Gang of 3, and the few interested here aren't going to nail down anything unilaterally overnite.

In fact. This needs to be The Gang of Many

Had you turned off the graphics, you would have discovered that many of the dynamic graphics were still hard coded xml. I thought we might start our improvements here.

Instead, I will retire.
