You guys have all been so quick I never got a look-in until yesterday and even then I agonised over whether it was the right call or not. I think it was.

Good thing is they are not permanently deleted so I guess? sub can resurrect them if necessary, with an appropriate apology. I felt a bit like the codec-sniper...

No, we're not able to delte permanent threads. This is sub's business. We just try to delete those spam-threads. In some "special"-cases asks for illegal keys, warez and so too.
We all can see, what the other one has "blended" out from the normal forum and, if necessary reopen them.

So just trust us and sub ;-)

Get serious! Would you trust someone that locks himself in the dark behind his computer and spends 25 hours a day writing and supporting software that helps us watch more Television?

It's insidious I tell you! It's a plot. There's something behind this I just know it. I blame viagra ... and that other spam item that keeps working its way into our lives ... Cialis, yes that's it. And propecia for good measure. I betcha that's what behind all my hair loss. Bwhhhahahahahha.

We'll take care, that no more Viagra-Commercials are coming up to you :p

TBH I am not much of a Sci-fi fan. But if I was, it would be impossible to have read it ... because.... a little birdie told me that "The Lion of Comarre" was authored by a fellow that goes by the name of Mr. Arthur C. Clarke, Smile . I have it on good authority that the same fellow wrote 3 laws, the second of which is:

The Second Law of Arthur C. Clarke:
"The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible."

So it may be possible that Asimov wrote it. But it is unlikely :p .

OK, I'll forgive you ... just this once. But don't do it again, or you'll go the way of that guy who went off with HAL, and we're not talking Microsoft's Hardware Abstraction Layer here either.... LOL, such geeky mirth ...

There are actually companies that you can hire for next to nothing to spam forums. The ones I've found are based in Russia - Interneo is one example of spamming scumbags. We have procedures in place on the Hauppauge forum to cut down on spam. It's not perfect but there's nowhere near the level of spam as we were getting before.

I'm sure if I had the time available I could tweak the vbulletin to avoid quite a bit of it. It is mostly an annoying distraction which consumes time that I dont have.

More power to ya fellas. I'm a moderator over at cheapassgamer.com and newsleecher.com and boy is it a chore. A chore I do willingly of course. There's nothing like sticking it to spammers, flamers, and trolls.
