btw: Using the Community XML and common images on my HTPC (with recording devices in it), so will look out for layout issues etc.

I also want to make a change to the More_xxx image files.

The source images have excessive padding in one direction.

The before image makes it difficult to place correctly. This might need previous skins to be tweaked, but I think this is a better usage of an image like this.

Ask Reven directly, since his "graphical design" is affected in the MyXXXX.
I also think it will alter the Mayhem design for the plugins.
Change the MoreUp to what was originaly used (rounded_arrow...).....that is my suggestion.
Then you dont have to alter the MoreUp

I will not use a new MoreUp in the main menus ...... where I have used it.
I like it small and "discrete" as it is, for the core XMLs.

Just uploaded preview build number 4 of the SkinPlugin. Added lots of new editable skin items (including Main Menu), and improved the skin preview function.

Just tried it. It is wonderful in its perfection. Really good thinking and programming. I am very impressed with your work.

Noticed: The ScreenName should have a very lightgraycolor, then it would work with most backgrounds.

An idea/question. If there where a CommonImage Theme defenition file in the _Common Image directory would it be possible to make a plugin function that copies images and make a theme into SkinPlugin directories?

Why not allow for full size of the image in the XML's? The padding shouldnt effect layout to much as the "edge" of the arrow is normally near the edge of the list it is assoicated with. (if you get what I mean :confused: )

Then let the user decide if he/she wants small, big or bright pink fluffy arrows?

Have a look at the size of the arrow_rounded...and have that size value in the XMLs.

Size of that image is a square eg 25x25. (many different looks are allowed then)

What meant was. Make it possible to create a "Theme" from a CommonImage file set. So users could make their Image selections and then make a "Save Theme" without renaming the directory _CommonImages.
Sounds like a lot of work....but I think end users would like it.

Here is the thought process. If you want to line up an up and down arrow side-by-side, you would do this:

More up= 350,20 Size 40,20
More Down= 395,20 Size 40,20

The "Y" direction is the same.

Those locations would make you think they would line up nicely next to each other. They don't. The actual image is close to only 8px high within the image.

If you wanted "squat" subtle more-up/down (like used now), you would use 40,10 for sizes in the xml files. You scale the image in the xml files.

The other part of the problem is that since the image is defined in the standard to be 40x20, if a new image was created to that size, it might not "fit".

We can change the image to be 40x10 and not have to worry about it.

Here is what image now are like. Then if changed to my first suggestion.
The third is either the second image scaled, or a revision to the image size (which I think is a better suggestion now after thinking about it).

The standard has to be "ignorant" of any individual graphical design to be universal. You have to approach it as not having any idea what the graphics look like.

Think of it in terms of Name-Here, Size-This.

Again, imagine you have no idea what the images look like because you won't. You don't know what images might be used in its place by users. You have to think of it differently. Think of every image being placed as a different color filled square (or rectangle) that fills the entire image (Like a "Developer_More_Up.png"). Someone could use the large arrow in my example and it would be to big in those xmls.
