Sheik Yerbouti Wrote:Great work Sub!

I noticed I lost the setup of my directories for music, videos and recording. It was all set back to C:\. I believe this happened after setting up GB-PVR as a client on another PC and running the config on this client.

The video in a window on my mediamvp is great, but the menus are placed on top of the video, leaving a portion of the screen open (the window). So we're not seeing the complete video in the window, but just what's left of the screen. Is this how it's suppose to work?

Thanks!
You need to be using the dongle.bin supplied with this release, and have removed the power from the MVP to force it to reload the dongle, for the video resize feature to be working - otherwise you'll just get the behaviour you describe.

Sub I think you did a great job on the dongle. It's very stable now.
It took me quite some clicking (abnormal) to get it to give a black screen. I waited for ~30 secs but nothing happened, so I switched the mvp off and on again, then it gave me the connecting server-screen.
One thing: When I go from livetv to the menu, I get the little screen, works ok, then I go to recordings, I keep livetv in the little screen, when I start a recording livetv stops and I go back one screen (showing the "folder" of the recording) I click enter again and again to start recording. The recording starts but in a little window. I click menu (on the remote), I go back to mainmenu (recording keeps playing in window), I click menu again, I get full window.
The good news is: it doesn't disconnect (I was quite surprised) but I think it needs a little adjustment.
I hope you get the idea of the problemSmile

Booting up he mvp with the new dongle went very well, it found the ip of the server right away. Normally I had to click ok once or twice to make the mvp find the server-ip.

HtV Wrote:Next question: There is a recording going on, so when I choose LIVETV I get the screen with the two options: don't watch tv or watch the current recorded show. When I choose the latter nothing really happens. When nothing was recording (earlier)I got a screen saying: ~ going into timeshiftmode.
I was able to reproduce this here. Its not a big problem, but I've included a fix for next time I do a release.

Thanks for pointing it out.

I use one PC just as playback off my server & to make manual recordings off my tivo via svideo.
If I were to set this up as a client would it give me grief trying to get it to record of the actual card instead of trying to use the servers card?

I havn't actually set it up yet, so this might be a silly question.Smile

If you setup a client machine, it will only use the capture sources defined on the server (not capture devices on the local machine). That said, if you temporarily need it to use locally defined capture sources, then if you remove the tick from the 'client mode' checkbox, then it'll use capture sources you've defined locally.

Great update Sub, I did the straight update and everything went perfect. Except that the MVP performance is twice as fast (compared to 97.6(?))! I still can't figure out how to get the video in a window though. I'll get it figured out.

Thanks!

Just press the menu button when you're watching video.

Just a quick note; did the upgrade and near as I can tell, everything is working just honky-dory! I had a wee problem installing it as a client on the laptop, but that was probably due to a lack in .NET... eventually I got it to install and run okay (took a couple of uninstall/reinstall cycles, even after I installed .NET 2.0).

I noticed some work was being done trying to get a custom dongle.bin that would be able to wake up the gbpvr server machine. I assume there's still no plan on Hauppauges part to support such a feature?
