Sub,

I know this release adds support for ViXS-based capture cards and I see the lsiting for the Avermedia Purity 3d MCE 250, but there isn't one for the Purity 3d MCE 500 (the dual tuner model) - is there something I can tweak to make this one work (I think the MCE 500 is significantly different than the 250, but I know the 500 is a ViXS card). Thanks.

I've only tested against a ViXS reference card, so depending on the card you've got you may need to define a new section in direct.ini with the appropriate names for your specific card. You should use the [ViXS PureTV] section in direct.ini as a template. I ask that people post these new sections as they create them so that I can add them to the master file.

A dual tuner card is effectively two single tuner cards, so you just create two capture sources, one set to device #1, the other to device #2.

sub,

In this post (as far back as oh-my-gosh 12 Sep 2006) you said
Quote:The nvidia DualTV card does not work with GB-PVR.
As I am led to believe this card is a ViXS-based card. Does this mean it is now actually supported or is there something (far more sinister...) else holding it back?

Sub. From reading the posts on this thread and others regarding the HDTV wonder, you mention that that card is problematinc as far as your new tuning code is concerned.

Has the manual tuning format changed from 98.08 to 98.13 ? The reason I ask is that with 98.08, at least I could watch LiveTV, even though I have never been able to record mpgs or dvr-ms longer than 0 bytes.

With 98.13 I have tried both DVR-MS mux and the Cyberlink MUX. I see that ATI MPEG multiplexer is available also, which was not available on 98.08. When I try to watch LiveTV, I do not get anything.

My Tuning request is :

T:47,69,1

Logs are attached, hoping you can see something.

Thanks

I'm not sure if the Nvidia DualTV card will work or not. Its actually based on and older ViXS driver model (V1) than the card I added support for (V2). It may work, but at the very least will require changes to direct.ini.

Knock it off, Sub! Improved ATSC HDTV support? ATSC QAM support? I am trying to buy myself a digital SLR camera, but now I'm going to have to redirect some of those conived funds to a HD tuner. Barnacles! You have to quit improving GBPVR so the rest of my electronic toys can play catch-up with my budget! Wink

Thanks, Sub (seriously)! That is quite a "pile" of fixes! And a special thank-you for fixing something I never even complained about -- the resume prompt during "Play All" videos. I have a couple of collections of children's shows, and when I plant the kiddies in front of the MVP equipped TV to watch them all, I would have to change that setting in GBPVR prior or, man, would I ever hear it from the kids! "DAD! THE SHOWS ARE BROKEN! DAD! IT'S NOT WORKING!" Big Grin
Chris
GBPVR system info intentionally left blank because I'm personally
insulted that you can't remember it from previous signatures.

Unfortunately, from this release things are a little more awkward for ATI HDTV Wonder owners, but much much better for owners of other ATSC HDTV devices. Sorry.

The new format is like:

T:48,34,1~P:3~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~N:>34.1 WUVG DT (spa)

Which is
T:<physical channel>,<major channel>,<minor channel>
P:<program number>
V:<video PID>
A:<audio PID>
PMT: <PMT PID>
N: <name (can be pretty much anything you like)>

The scan usually finds all this for you, but unfortunately the ATI HDTV Wonder filters out some of the important info required for the scan. These addition fields can be found using TS Reader. Hopefully a HDTV Wonder owner will write a tutorial to make it easier for others that have to do this?

I thought the DualTV was a ViXS XCode II. Is there a XCode II V1 and V2, or are you saying Dual TV is ViXS XCode I, not II? Or is it just a firmware/driver difference? (I ordered the VistaView Saber 2020 - don't know what version it is.)

I think it is more of a driver thing than hardware. That said, I've never seen an nvidia card - so dont know very much about it, but the ViXS guy had indicated they're using the slightly older, slightly different V1 drivers.
