Has anyone seen or looked at the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR4000 HD Quad-mode TV receiver? RRP for this is listed as $267.75 inc gst. Available May. Stats for this are:

I've got one of these. The only real downside is the analog side of it the device lacks a hardware MPEG2 encoder, otherwise a decent card.

does it have two Satellite Tuners (1 for DVB-S and 1 for DVB-S2) or is QUAD just misleading as its a DVB-S2 tuner that backward compatible??

Ie can you record/watch 2 DVB-S channels with this card?

I'm guessing no - but I though I'd check and who better than someone who is actually running the card. I can get these for under $200 so if it will do 2 DVB-S it'd be a great card.

BTW - Saw your message and found the V8 Supercars channel - pretty cool that they can just throw up a temporary channel for an event!! As you say - It'll be great for the Rugby World Cup (Hopefully widescreen!!!!!) - I'm suprised they haven't got an America's Cup channel!

Yes, I'm in NZ and it works with Freeview.

No, it cant do that. From memory its got one tuner that can handle either DVB-S or DVB-S2, and another tuner that can DVB-T and analog. So in theory you'd be able to record two Freeview channels, one from DVB-S and one from DVB-T (when the DVB-T service launches).

Watching Americas cup action on Versus channel on Directv in the US. Looks like Team New Zealand is doing well so far. The Italians sure were on their game and took out the US. Go team NZ!

Im guessing that i can watch freeview and record analog at the same time (or the other way around)?
