I don't know if this is any help, but SpeedFan can read the temperatures of harddrives (SMART). It says on the page that it's compatible with Motherboard Monitor 5, but I don't know if that just means that they can live together or if the info from SpeedFan can be put in mbm5's xml files.

I saw the reference to SMART monitoring in the FAQ on the MBM page. Not much specifics there though.

I just keep banging on about HD temps as that's where my system gets hot. I suspect for most folks CPU temp is of more interest.

Cheers

HD temp is of interest to me too, it is generally one of the hottest things in your PC, and is very rarely cooled.

Ok, MBM is supposed to do HD temps, only it doesn't appear to on my machine [Image: smile.gif] great!

So if anyone is using MBM and it can see their HD temps, could you enable the "Interval Log" and email me a copy please.

I can now confirm it does HD temps if your drives are SMART enabled and actually have a sensor, the ones in my dev box obviously don't have any.

For anyone interested in this plugin, I would suggest you install and have a play with Motherboard monitor first, basically the plugin looks in the Interval Log and just reads out the T_?? values (temperatures)and the F_?? values (fanspeeds), at the moment anyway.

Will try and get a new release out later today (as long as my clients stop hassling me)

Hi Huw

I get this error message when i try and click the SysInfo button.

I have used the 0.2a code.

I have amended my config.xml, in pluginSettings section:
<SysInfoPlugin>
<Version>0.2a</Version>
<Mbm5>c:\\Program Files\\Motherboard Monitor 5\\Log\\MBM 5 Interval Log.xml</Mbm5>
</SysInfoPlugin>

and also the skin.xml (SpecialElements section):
<SpecialElement name="Panel" panelName="SysInfoPanel" visible="true" loc="500,100" size="180,80"/>

Have I got to do anything else? MBM5 is running, and the xml file is being generated in the correct place.

[edit] also, when i get this error, i cannot use the remote to OK it. I have to use the mouse and click OK. sub, is this part of the core engine, or a plugin problem?

cheers

OK, I've downloaded this, and dropped the files in what I think are the appropriate directories, but I'm not getting anything.

The wiki contains zero info apart from a link to this thread.

Any idea what I need to do to make it work?

Thanks in advance
