CommunitySkin 3.0 Support Thread

For the MVP, and only running new new UI, download the communitySkin 3.0 Beta. No theme changing is available for the new UI at this time, we are working on a fix.

If you are running any older plugins, you Need the CommunitySkin 2.x.x as well.
You will also need to download and install the skinplugin and the patch from the liked post above. Using the skinplugin, you can select custom images or a pre-composed theme. Browse the wiki page for the SKinplugin, it should give you more info.

Once again, however, running the new UI, theme changes do not work yet.

No rush... I'll wait. The blue skin is not bad. It is not that clear on a 100hz Digital Scan 32" TV. Better but not quite the same as on a computerscreen. Plain Jane was a bit better, a bit larger font and a nice menu on the left wich leaves the midsection for info like weather, next recording that sort... It works fine for now although I can not see the new interface 1.08 because of the MVP. For the rest it runs just fine.

I have a small problem, I fixed it manually but I think it should be included in the package.
I have created a couple of folders. And get a ugly "TV-guide" icon when they are in focus.
I found out that the reason was that "task.png" was missing in the folder skin2\community3\menu (same in community2). I copied one I like to the folder and now it works.

I have another little problem with Com3.
I can not watch tv! It works with the blue original and with community2.
Have I missed some setting somewhere?

If not, could it be related to the fact that I have all tv stuff in a sub-menu of its own? If I hit the button "Live tv" the screen goes black for five seconds an then all returns to the top level menu.

I messed up the OSD, copy the contents from the skin2/blue/OSD folder over to Skin2/Community3/OSD.

I'll try to get the installer updated tomorrow.

Hi,

just loaded up pvrx2 1.016 and would like to get the widescreen community skin working.

I previously used the community skin on 99.8 gbpvr

I have downloaded all the bits that seem relevant from the wiki.

but i cant get Musiclibrary 2 to work nothing actually happens when I click the menu button, although its fine on the default blue skin.

And if I try and run the skin plugin it just explodes with errors and crashes

I'm pretty sure I have just missed something or chosen the wrong version of something

So if you could provide a sticky thread which details what to actually do it would be a great help

I'm guessing you have version mismatches. Firstly un-install all Community Skin/SkinPlugin stuff and then check gbpvr\Plugins has no skin plugin related items.

From here, install the Community Skin (labelled Version 3.0 updated 2007-Aug-12) and the SkinPlugin 3.0 Preview 2 (labelled Mirror 1 updated 2007-AUG-05). Then run the config app and set Community3 as the current skin and check the SkinPlugin is in the plugins list.

Post again if you have questions/problems.

edit just noticed you want the widescreen version. I don't think that has been updated yet - may have to stick with the the regular one for now.

I have followed the instructions but still get the same thing with Musiclibrary2

you press the menu item for the plugin but all that happens is the menus fade into the background nothing else happens.

any advice gratefully received

I have another report of a problem with MusicLibrary2. I will spend some time on it this weekend to figure it out. It was working at one point, so I think the fix will be easy.
