Nothing yet. Think of me as a newb who wants to "future-proof" himself! Smile

Actually, since I posted this update, I've been knee-deep in this thread:

Interesting read...

I forgot that I lent Transformers to a friend. U2 Rattle and Hum is the only other AVC title I seem to have and that was such a horrible transfer I don't think it will be a good benchmark. I'll get TF back tomorrow and let you know.

Thanks, but there is really no big hurry on that. The only thing I would be doing short-term is displaying captured SD & HD content over S-Video to my 27" Trinatron.

The real motivation for this is that even though I record SD & HD, everything is played back over my MVP. Lately ffmpeg has not been able to transcode HD to SD, thus pissing of my wife to no end (since she can't watch her shows).

Sometime after that we will be *finally* getting into HDTV -- probably after Christmas...

What a shame... I was in the audience. Maybe you could spot me in HD otherwise. Smile

Tested TF. I am not a happy man right now. 5600+ AM2 and CPU was 60%-spike.

This was tested with CoreAVC which is not supposed to be great anyway. I'll try other decoders this weekend if I get a chance. If the performance doesn't increase, it looks like I'll be getting a 2600Pro.

I am running Firefox and GBPVR with an HD football game and at about 10% Cpu with a 5200, video at 256 with ATI mux (from AVIVO install). I've been happy with the board, but HD is unimpressive through GBPVR vs WinTV.

Spartan,
I am not doing any HD but I am using on board video. My sig is still accurate, and the board has a Geforce 6150 built in. The only time I notice any lag is recorded Nascar, and thats just the ticker at the top, but I think its more to do with cyberlink -vs- nvidia than the actual card.

Your not that far away... take a drive up to Mt Pleasant and come see it! LoL Smile

More details here.

NPVR Rig: HP Laptop, 3rd Gen i7, 8gb DDR3, 250gb SSD (OS), Records to 6tb array on my server, Silicon Dust HDHomeRun PRIME
