More importantly (well, more importantly to me, anyway) what card are you using? I'd be thrilled to be able to do away with the STB & SVideo input, but was under the impression that was the only way to go. (Yeah, yeah, off topic. My apologies.)

Seriously, I'd love to have support for it, like I do for the standard DVB EPG, but its not easy for me to add this non-standard listing format while I'm here on the other side of the world.

Yeah, I understand. But as I said, there is some toggle in gbpvr already for "DishNetwork", so I wonder how you got the DN satellites to be over there?

I think both the Dn and Bev format has been documented (on dvbn). Maybe recording the transponder stream to a file which you can playback is an option. (or this might turn out to be a giant file..)

The scanning satellites took ~30 mins for me in gbpvr, but < 2 mins in other apps. I get the feeling other limitations will be hit when using the gbpvr in NA because it is developed for non-NA systems.

I am using a Twinhan 1027 DVB-s card. Here is the link to there website.

It doesnt work for DN either. Its something I looked into in the past, but it was never completed. Its about half way there.

I have seen rough documentation on the topic, but its still pretty complex stuff and difficult to implement without real signals. I have used full transport stream samples to try to work through this in the past. Given these extra hassles of developing this way, its been bumped way down my priority list a few times.

I also dont have ready access to full transport stream samples. It'd take a couple of days of dedicated time to work through this problem, but can only commit an hour or two here and there, so on the couple occassions people have supplied them in the past, a few days later they're of no use to me since they only contain listings for the past.

If someone wants to post a download link to a 250MB or so TS sample every few days for a few weeks, then I'm sure I could find some more time to take another look.

I suppose the time difference is big if a person is having trouble and having to run through the steps a lot. But if you only have to do it once for each sat, what's the biggie. Sure it could be quicker....

Anyway, I'm looking forward to finishing my app. If only to show sub how easy it was and that he could easily add it natively :p

I'm also looking forward to digging in and getting into the sat stuff myself....

This is off topic, but what the hay...The web site says your 1027 only does free to air sat channels. The one above handles the cam cards. Are you able to get that many channels (from the scan.cach file) for free?

And your two sats, are they both picked up from one dish orientations?

In a word yes!, I am not sure about the cam card one, I am sure that it will work as well, but for the 1027 you need a Multidec plugin in order to decript and view the channels. This little program here, from another thread, will do it: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...=emunation

There is another one called vplug the DVBN website, there is a link in the above thread. They is a lot of information on that website about the whole thing.

As for the two sats, they are indeed picked up from the same dish orientation. You just need two LMB's.

I knew I would get you hooked Big Grin If you need any more info let me know and I will do my best to help you out.

Thanks
