I've given the ASPNET account persmissions to the GBPVR directory (including the DB), the recordings directory and the Windows TEMP directory. Is there anything else I've missed?

Thanks

You can take the easy way out and the Administrors security group to the ASPNET user account.

Once again, thanks for the response. I've added the ASPNET account to the administrators group, same problem exists.

I read about the same problem in another thread, seemed there was no resolution?

Thanks

I'm all out of ideas then. I remember I had the same problem, and the security permissions was the culprit.
Maybe check if a firewall is interfering somehow?

Thanks for all the help, I ended up just turning off IIS and using the inbuilt GBPVR one. Will tackle the problem again when I have more time.

Thanks!

Now that i have it working i have another question, are there any security risks to having it set up this way? Is it more or less secure than using the "fyvvr.com:3887/gbpvr" method?

to be fair i leave GBPVR use its own webserver, i then use apache to proxy to it (works fine), i'll post the link here ot login and thats it, its flawless, infact its never broken ever (asking for trouble that is init).

http://www.ashleygriffin.co.uk?melinks=a...ration-pvr

everytime ive seen someone try to replace a webserver with another it always ends in shed loads of code not working, i seem to remember someone trying to do an Exchange server on apache, i think it almost work, just not 100%, aagain i reverse to that (took way more than GBPVR due to Microsoft wanting to take over the planet and reverse looking up to itself directly, (theres an undocumented setting to stop this though).
Many Thanks
Ashley

They block port 80 at my work too so I changed my GBPVR EWA to run on port 8080 since this is open for our network. I am not running any secure websites at home as I expect is the case for most others so if you are not completely married to the idea of running EWA on an existing IIS server then you could most likely do the same.

The only problem with 8080 is that the VLC web service runs on that port and if you use the Streaming fetures of EWA you will have conflicts and unpredictable results.

.

I stumbled on your site buying one of your old mobos off ebay and thought that was quite a neat trick.
