No, only options are 3250 and 4200. I'll try and see if there 's any new drivers. I tried every conceivable option and still no go. mce does record off of it either. i'll look at the avs forums tonight. I need to get this going to appease the Wife. I also picked up a Channel Master antenna that i'm going to install on my rotor and test my HVR1600 for OTA sometime this weekend, but the priority is to get channel changing for the stb.

Hey, smajor doesn't yours report as a 4300? I just bought this one before xmas along with a 52" 120hz lcd tv. maybe the newer model as a different
base part number and that's why it's reporting as a 4300. Woulkd you recheck to see what yours reports as and let me know?

Thanks

MeekMaster Wrote:smajor, Ive got the firestb package installed and updated with ex dues' driver inf. All hardware is recognized and I am able to change channels via command line. However I cant get GBPVR to change the channels. I can also capture audio and video through firewire with the capvhs executable.

Right now I have an HVR-1600 installed and am using the hauppauge remote to control gbpvr. I dont have the HVR-1600 setup as a source though. I set up my source as an HD-PVR in preparation as I will be getting it as a xmas gift. Im trying to get this ready to go before hand so its almost plug and play.

I set HD-PVR as capture source, schedules direct for epg and I pointed channel changer to the channel.exe program from the tim moore firestb package. Is there something I am missing or do I need to use the hvr-1600 as the source?

Sorry about that, the program I think is called capDvhs.exe and it resides in the tim moore install directory. i only used it once to verify my connection so im not an expert on it, but if i can do it, it must have been really simple. implementing it into gbpvr has already been in the works but i dont think it has been successful. I remember seeing the thread but cant for the life of me find it again.
As soon as I figured out what options it was expecting, it worked right away.

Your logs are showing that it's identifying itself as a 4300 and not a 4250. It's possible that it takes an entirely different string or your drivers are not quite right. Did the second package have drivers for the 4300?[/QUOTE

The 4250 registers as a 4300 in the updated Exdeus drivers.
This is what i found searching avs and the greenbutton forums.

So I think it's normal. I didn't touch it last night but will try again tonight.

Ah, it does show as a 4300 on mine. I know with the addition of Exdeus is does take care of the two unknown devices that TimMoore's doesn't. I don't know that those two matter, but I'm now taking the shotgun troubleshooting approach. Big Grin

Did you try every combination of the a flag? a0 - a4?

Yes and tried time delays also. My harware shows 3 unknown devices plus the panel and tuner when I plug it in. I'm going to try the new irblaster driver that are posted at SHSPvr. Here's the link if anyone is interested.http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=11880.0

I'll let you know if they work better.

I think there's somethig wrong with MCE, it keeps getting corrupted somehow. I decided to go back to my business XP Pro SP2. I can't get the firestb.msi installed. it's asking for some other parameters but I can't figure it out. Here is the screenshot of the installer. What should I do different ? Is there a newer installer that would work?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Because you're not on MCE, you need to run the installer from the DOS Prompt with this: msiexec /i firestb.msi IDENT=”1”

That will bypass the MCE check for the installer.

That's exactly what I do and always get this screen. I hope I don't have to install SP3 because it breaks a few other apps.

I don't know what to tell you, I just double-check the command on the author's site and tied it on my other Windows XP box, and it worked as expected.

I've only every installed it with SP2 and SP3. I don't know what would happen with no SP or SP1.
