Perhaps not everyone knows this, but pm-wiki gives us a (almost not broken) printable manual Smile

This is NOT a Manual:

Quote:Perhaps not everyone knows this, but pm-wiki gives us a (almost not broken) printable manual

But it looks pretty good!.

Not quite there but getting closer, perhaps?

My main problem is with the very outdated Wiki.

It is late now in UK so I use that as an excuse for my strongly worded nocturnal behaviour :o

Cheers

Blader, where does this manual refer back to, i.e. source?

Cheers

It follows the links, actually list of pages, found on http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/Manual

You can add "?action=publish" onto any page link you want as the staring point.

Hmmm so really this is a sort of definitive source for anyone looking for a manual to GBPVR? As opposed to the Wiki or Forums? A complete Newbie could look at this and any Wiki page updated will show here? And when people ask for a manual to GBPVR this is sort of it without anyone having to create .PDF's or anything?

Yes, as long as the wiki trail on the Manual page is updated, but not "opposed to the wiki" since it *is* the wiki Wink, and yes since it is created on-the-fly you get the latest wiki pages.

(You could also create a pdf document out of the same wiki trail, but so far I think it is just as easy to let the browser do it by printing to CutePDF Writer or similar.)

The link Blader gives to this source links back to Dec 2008. He is saying there should be a printable manual? Well there isn't as far I can see. A lot of people have worked hard at this can I fill a gap?

Cheers

I can see.

What are you expecting to see?

Let me try and explain this pmwiki feature that existed even back in 2008.

If you on a wikipage have a WikiTrail, you can get a single page containing all pages referenced by that Wikitrail. You get that single long page by adding "?action=publish" on the page containing the WikiTrail.

Now, when you have a single long page, containing many wikipages, you *could* print that page (as a pdf to save some trees) and get a printed section. If that section was the above mentioned manual page you would get what I refer to as a "printed manual".

As you can see, everything revolves around the Wikitrail, only the pages listed in the wikitrail will get into the "printed manual". This is why I created the wikitrail on the Manual page
