Thanks
You forgot to attach the screenshots, but if its failing to register .ax files, then it sounds like you didnt install the new updated vcredist_x86.exe. See the red/bold text in the first post.

Thanks sub. Guess I was too anxious to get it installed! Completely missed that step.

Thanks Again.

Great work, Sub. You never fail to impress me!

Have a couple of questions though regarding mdapi vs CI. I have a working mdapi setup with a phoenix card reader and newcs as a "cardsharing" server. Although I only feed my own DVB-T card with my legal smart card in order to view encrypted channels. This was the only option until now. But now I see there is support for CI cards, which I also have but haven't used.

So, what are the pros and cons to the different solutions? Especially in the situation of decoding several encoded channels simultaneously? I have three DVB-T-cards in my HTPC, two from a dual card that has no CI interface. Today I have only the twinhan card decoding encrypted channels. I haven't gotten the dual card to work with mdapi at all (choppy video).

Is the new GB-PVR version going to improve the situation? Will I gain from using the CI interface instead?

Sorry, I dont really have any comments for you at this stage regarding the pros and cons of multidec vs CI. There would be many possible angles those comments, and I dont really have the time right now to type a large post about it.

Just a 'FYI'. I had to re-enable the GB-PVR web sever port in config MISC2 tab after installation. No biggie.

No, they should use the x86 version I linked in this thread.

The first link is the x64 version of 2008 vcredist.

The second link is the x86 version of 2008 vcredist.

Is vcredist 2005 version being used for Win98/ME support? vcredist 2005 SP1 lost Win98/ME support.

The version your need is: http://www.gbpvr.com/vcredist_x86.zip

I am using VS2005 SP1 for develoment. The new version of vcredist is required due to a patch Microsoft pushed out via WindowsUpdate at the end of June for this version of the VS.

Ok, just a quick question that ought to summarize it, if you have the time... With one CA module stuck to one of my three tuners cards, will it be possible to decode multiple channels from:

  1. A single transponder on any single tuner?
  2. Channels from multiple tuners?
Another related question is if GB-PVR supports subchannels? The docs from the latest mdapifilter claims it does not. But isn't subchannels what gbpvr use for it standard multichannel support from a single transponder?
