stustunz Wrote:sorry i meant for setting Npvr up OK. I have recorded a program with NPVR and played it back using PowerDVD9. I get both video and audio. PowerDVD tells me the audio is AAC 2.0. Then I try to play it back with NPVR and get video but no audio. The other AAC audio decoders get the same result. Prior to launching the NPVR playback I set the 'AAC decoder' to my ArcSoft Audio Decoder. After the playback the setting has somehow been set to 'Disabled'. So now I try 'setting' it back to ArcSoft , OK(to exit settings) and immediately go back into 'settings\decoders' to check the setting of the AAC Decoder. It has been reset to 'disabled'. The other AAC audio decoders get the same result.

link for you http://blog.monogram.sk/janos/2008/04/20...oder-0950/ power dvd wont let you use the audio decoder power dvd is fine for video as you know as you have video playing back fine

And BTW, most codecs called AAC is actually HE-AAC, so set the appropiate decoder there also (in Settings->Decoders). For Monogram you need to run .\windows\system32\regsvr <filename>.ax
Edit: If it is an x64 system you probably should use .\windows\SYSWOW64\regsvr32.exe <filename of decoder>.ax "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy"

stustunz Wrote:did you register the file Sorry got called away. Yes I did - extracted mmaacd.ax and copied it to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 then run regsvr32 mmaacd.ax and got this message "mmaacd.ax" may not compatible [sic] with the version of Windows that you're running. Check if the module is compatible with x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of regsvr32.exe. Want me to try again. Maybe I had finger problem

i think you have to put it in the right folder go back a few posts #26 then try to regsister it again
If it is an x64 system you probably should use .\windows\SYSWOW64\regsvr32.exe <filename of decoder>.ax im pretty sure it works on 64bit systems just has to be in the right place |
