What is the latest version of MVPMCX2? I currently have the version from 6/19/2010.

Using NMTInstall or NMTInstall2 will ensure that you download and install the latest production version of mvpmcx2.
There is a newer version that I have asked drbenjamin to test here http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post380303 which would be the next update if it is successful. Martin

do the above methods facilitate the USB method?

Martin: do you have the most recent version of mvpmcx2 and the scripts for using the NMT with NPVR as a separate download available? My A100 and A110 are running these directly from the hard disk in the NMT's so I prefer to manually update them and not use your installer.
Can I still use GBPVR with the new version and scripts? Should make testing a lot easier Jos

N-PVR and GB-PVR can both use the same version of mvpmx2. The current file is mvpmcx2n http://www.mvpmc.org/~mvallevand/mvpmcx2n.7z and I noticed a hadn't updated the link on the Dummies guide. There are no script changes required but you do need to update config.xml to
<StartPortControl>5916</StartPortControl> as pointed out in the 1.5 testing thread http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...h-the-NMTs Martin
Thanks Martin. Copied mvpmcx2 to the NMT's HD. GBPVR still works but how can I force the client to use NPVR instead of GBPVR when both NPVR and GBPVR servers are running at the same time? GBPVR has 2 servers running, NPVR (my test rig) has one server running. Is there a kind of built in priority?
BTW: is there still the alpha problem (dimmed screen) with 720 or is that now solved with NPVR? Jos

No there is no way to choose from GBPVR or NPVR running on the same server.
I consider fixing the dim 720 OSD problem a low priority. If sub does move to incremental OSD updates or optimizes the OSD for a PCH and not an MVP I might consider it. Until then the dim OSD is an alternative for those who don't like the flashing OSD. Martin

If they are on two different servers I have documented how to achieve it in the NMT section on the wiki
