Nice Hairy,

much of this can be done via PM and emails, would you mind if I posted a thread about structure and admin of the new wiki to ensure there was a total plan in place?

great stuff

Posted in wrong thread no doubt as the 'naming' of N-PVR jumps over so many threads but how about

slickpvr

no hints I'm afraid to sub's name, but did just check it out and not registered... yet

I'm was generally happy with 'NPVR' but there is a couple of things I dont like about it, lack of available npvr.com (I do have NextPVR.com), and googling NPVR turns up a zillion hits for "network pvr"s.

Its hard to come up with a good name.

The only problem I ever had with gbpvr was having to pronounce it to other people, G B P V R ....it doesn't really trip off the toungue, nor it is easy to remember. npvr improves things by 20% but still isn;t quite there IMO.

Most software has a pronounceable actual name, rather than just being an acronym. Handbrake, video-redo, memcoder dvdshrink, etc. In fact Handbrake is a fascinating example. Everyone (I think) knows about it but the name doesn;t tell you anything about what the app actually does.

On that basis, NextPVR works better for me than any other ideas so far.
