Yep - thanks - seems to work quite nicely. I have set it up as a scheduled task 10 mins before the NPVR EPG update. I will run with this until a solution is found.

If anyone else is seeing a similar issue then please post a comment. More information may help to isolate. Maybe its just Australia or HVR2200 users.

Note that sometimes a channel may be empty because the provider has not provided data. The symptoms of this issue is different. You can perform 4 consecutive epg updates and the empty channels will change each time. If you are seeing this issue then let us know.

You can also put it in <datadir>\Scripts\UpdateEPG.bat, if I remember correctly all commands in this file is run prior to npvr updating EPG.

Thanks - I will give that a try - even easier. And it seems to be working well.

Bump - Just a bump to keep the issue with the native NPVR DVB-T EPG Loader visibile.

DVBGuide continues to work well and is not hard to setup but it would be good to have the native NPVR DVB-T EPG Loader working.

I'v found that DVBGuide works so well that I don't bother with the native updating, DVBGuide scans each frequency only once, while the native update scans it for each channel on each frequency and thus takes a lot more time to collect the data.

No it doesnt. It scans each frequency once, for all the channels on that frequency.

That is not what I have observed, at least earlier versions scanned each frequency once for each SID.

It absolutely shouldnt, and that isnt the case here. If you post the logs, I'll take a look.

Can someone tell me if dvbguide works with U.S. digital broadcast stations? If so does it work with the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1600 card. I've tried modifying XJW's batch file to a local freq. and bandwidth i.e. dvbguide -fX -at -c174000 -e60 -b6 -u1 -of:\DVBCollector\EPG1.xml
I keep getting the error:

Selecting tuner 1...
Tuner: <Hauppauge WinTV 418 BDA Tuner>
ERROR - specified tuner does not support DVB-T

I'm pretty new to all of this and could be confused about what DVB-T is. I thought it was Digital Video Broadcast - Terrestrial with Terrestrial meaning it's picked up via an antenna. This is exactly what's going on here so I don't understand why I'm getting the error. If it's any help here are the specs. for the channel I'm currently trying to scan, a local PBS station: VHF 174 - 180MHZ vid = 175.25, DTV = 174.31, Aud = 197.75, upper edge = 180. There are four channels carried in this 6 Mhz range, listed as KETS-1, KETS-2, KETS-3 and KETS-4 in nPvr's channel list.

XJW, thanks for posting the bat file. I've been watching this thread for a long time.

Hi Daharp, Sorry for the late reply - I have been on vacation for 3 weeks. It looks like the HVR1600 is an ATSC / QAM card and is not supported by DVBGUIDE. Notes in this thread to that effect. http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/t/36756...ageIndex=9

Sub - Any update on a fix for the channels with no data ?
