Still getting it sub, possibly less than it was, although that's sort of subjective and I haven't tested it for long.

I've included a screen shot that shows the two, possibly competing, ac3filters that occur. I notice that one is showing ac3 with a working audio stream and the other is mpeg but has no activity. Interesting if nothing else.

Many thanks,
Shaun.

That might just be the way it works. I see the same thing, and it caused problems with Reclock too, because only one of the active filters can send it audio. sub has said in the past that he has to add all possible (selected) filters to the graph, so this is why multiple copies of ac3filter show up; one copy per audio format (ac3, mpeg, etc) enabled.

Regarding the choppy audio, I've not been using NPVR recently but it was a problem I was experiencing too. Attempts to duplicate it this morning - *before* trying sub's patch - resulted in perfect audio at every attempt. Sigh.

Would a full .ts/multiplex dump containing one or more channels that this happens with help sub?

The issue is still there, on W7 also. A quick pause/resume usually helps, and I'v found that raising the priority class of NextPVR process to High sometimes also helps.

This is normal if you've selected ac3filter as more than of the one audio decoder (for example, AC3 and MPEG1 Layer II). The app basically has to add an audio decoders for each of the audio formats that it might encounter during a live tv session. It has no way to know that in advance.

Yes, maybe. If someone has a channel it happens with every time, I could try using a full TS they've captured see if I can reproduce ithere.

For me the crapper sat channels do it pretty consistently. How do you do a full TS recording with npvr? It's been a while since I've had cause to send sub one...

Create a c:\temp\live directory, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NPVR\RecordFullTS=1 (DWORD), then start nrecord and watch a channel on that frequency, and it'll create a c:\temp\live\full-xxxx.ts file.

Do you have the same problem as I that if you start a live-tv session it is out of sync, but if you start a recording, watch it and catch up it is perfectly in sync?

Yes I have had that problem since August. I don't have any problem on analog with mpeg audio but ATSC, QAM and HDPVR recordings with AC3 are all the same. One Ctrl-Right after starting and I am fine.
