Is this adjustment to the starting timing.info value to account for startup time something that needs to be added to NPVR then for regular playback? Because the problem you've adjusted for on the NMT certainly sounds like what I see all the time - all skips off by a few seconds.

When I was still working on GBPVR, people were continually complaining about it's crappy TS playback (for example, it was never able to get the duration or skipping anywhere near accurate (relied on guessing from the bitrate)). I think people have either have selective memories. I'm not claiming the current TS playback is perfect, but I'd rate it as a lot better than GBPVR's in lots of ways.

In all honesty SUB I can't move from my install if GBPVR because it works perfect, as in 10 sec = 10 sec skip, pause then play within a fraction of a second. I have installed every version of nPVR and always gone back to GBPVR. The playback of recording for myself is perfect with GBPVR and un-useable with nPVR. nPVR is so bad I sometimes have to exit and resume a TV recording after it has been paused. This playback is the deal breaker for myself.

Stuck on GBPVR for now, but really since it all works I'm happy to continue with it until nPVR catches up.

I also prefer to pause and then skip ahead and back so I hope this long delay when restarting playback can be addressed.

I dont typically pause then skip, but I tried it this morning and did see the delay when I hit 'play'. I'm taking a look at it now.

Hey Sub, that's awesome.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, I'm probably comparing DVR-MS to TS mux, but certainly GB-PVR didn't exhibit this issue. It's strange that skipping while playing is fairly accurate, but skipping while paused throws up this behaviour.

Cheers

I have been looking into this problem, but no fix at this stage. Its a complicated issue, that seems to be happening in the directshow base classes.

I checked and GBPVR had the same problem. You must have been using something other than .ts files.

Can you tell if this issue is related to this one here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...r-skipping.

Still on GBPVR here, using dvr-ms, with no timeline problems, no skipping problems, perfect Comskip functioning... just no live TV on my client... Wink

Do you think you will be able to improve the general responsiveness of skipping forward and backward? It is really sluggish for me and a little painful to operate at the moment (almost 2 second delay after button press for video to skip ahead and continue playing). I am using the Microsoft DTV-DVD decoders if that makes a difference.
