I'm not sure. I've never been able to reproduce it to take a closer look.

If it's only started happening since adding this Evolve Mars, then it might be worth seeing if the problem goes away if you remove the device. We dont know if the problem is limited to only some devices - it might be.

Last time i saw this by my own eyes. HTPC finished recording in 19:50. In 19:53 it goes to stand by. In 19:57 it resume itself to start recording at 20:00 - but this failed, nothing was recorded, while prewious regording was OK, but NPVR reporting error (service was not running at recodring time error).
But it was running...

So why NPVR marked correctly recording as failed? Becouse there was a problem to stop a graph?

BTW, there is no way how to force graph to stop?

That's what it's trying to do, but it effectively hung inside the "stop" call.

Well, with older WinTV tunner (Hauppauge HVR-1300) i had more issues comparing to Evolve Mars Smile

The problem i have right now seems to happend once per week, so that not that bad.
But adding some LOG entry about this issue will be good for better identification. Recording service was not running... isnt exactly right Smile

The attached version marks the recording as 'completed' immediately prior to stopping the graph, which should at least help with the situation where the recording is later marked as 'recording service not running at recording time' because the recording service had hung trying to stop the graph.

I may be way off the mark here (& I probably am).......
but from what I have read of all the reports with this situation once it gets the "can't stop graph" scenario from then on the Recordingservice is pretty much useless & all later recordings fail, wouldn't it be possible as a workaround to have it in some way close the Recordingservice when it gets into the can't stop graph situation & then it will fire up a clean version automatically & continue recording whatever is scheduled??
