"Your methods of seeking help just aren't going to get you anywhere. I get your frustration, but you're going to have to calm down and do what we have asked: reproduce the problems, post logs. Stop going on about how perfect your computer is and what a computer expert you are... we don't care."

I have never said my computer is perfect, nor did I say what an expert I am.
If my computer was perfect, I would rent it out to JPL. If I were an expert, I would purchase Microsoft. And yes, I am getting the impression some people here dont care.
Get over yourself.
Now that I removed and reinstalled the software, and its magically working again, how do I reproduce the problem? Beat the CPU with a hammer?
Sheesh!

Sheesh!
Are you saying that everything works fine now? Npvr is no longer sluggish and does not crash? The epg updates as it should?

I'm thinking of something I'd like to see beaten with a hammer.

Just kidding. Mostly. Glad you have it working though.

The UI is slow because your computer is slow. It's probably having to render the whole UI in software (something logs would have shown), as your old computer probably doesn't have a decent graphics card (decent meaning anything made in the last 5 years or so). NPVR runs well on very modest hardware, but modest by the standards of 2008 or so, not modest by the standards of 2002.

Get in line.

All this person has really proved is their utter ignorance about programming and databases. I think it's extremely cheeky to expect help from sub (and others) after ripping into his software using a set of arguments based on nonsense and fantasy.

Pulsey Baby,
Why you do this?
We've asked you to post your system specs and logs but you ignore the request and just continue your ramblings.
Why?
Are you in a bad place in your life and use this to fill the void.
Did your car die? Your dog leave you? Your wife doesn't start?
Regardless, here's a solution:
Click start/all programs/NPVR/stop recording service.
Open your web browser and delete all bookmarks and history related to this forum, the wiki and NPVR home page.
Uninstall NPVR from your computer.
Open Explorer and delete any files left in the NPVR and data NPVR folders and delete the folders themselves.
Restart your computer and never install NPVR or post here again.

BTW you have been measured and found to be wanting:

I my self have been running NPVR on a suanpan (look it up) that I have owned since the song dynasty. However it required more than a bit of magic and a decent graphics card to get HDTV working to an acceptable standard. (I still get problems with skipping though) Big Grin

再见 Tai Chian Bye bye

yeah, we just get so few actual trolls here it's tough to spot the little bastards hiding in the weeds with the somewhat more common 'just plain rude with a healthy dose of stupid' users. Even with them though we've rarely if ever turned them from their wicked ways, so neither sort is worth the bother.

(now Johnsonx42 eyes the Ban Hammer sitting in its annointed place. he wants to use it. he ponders the applause from other users as the Ban Hammer falls upon the head of the troll... yet the Ban Hammer was given for smiting of spammers; does his power extend to purging of users who are merely annoying? Might the almighty sub, giver of the Ban Hammer, look unkindly on such usage? Johnsonx42 strokes the handle of the Ban Hammer... "perhaps the time has not yet come my little friend... but soon. rest.... for now.")
