I re-read this two year old thread of yours http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...s-Studders and I don't think you can really say how good your GBPVR experience was. The most relevant comment is this one "Similar studder blue screens whenever there are strange spots on the recording" As long as you have that pixelization with strange spots (like the chunk you posted) playback will deteriorate.

Unfortunately I'm travelling right now and only have my iPad with me so I can't check the file myself at the moment, but I'm pretty sure Martin is on the money with his comments

I was able to fix my prior issues with my ATI HD 780G video card. The blue screens were causes by decoders that didn't work with the 780G, and by turning off all the advanced anti-aliasing features in video driver and using the Microsoft Demux my picture quality was pretty good. Those days in that old thread, my problems were very different. Then things played okay in Windows Media player and they didn't play well in GBPVR. Now my problem is very different. I'm wondering if I want to upgrade to NPVR, because things still look pretty good in GBPVR, I just have issue in an occasional recording cut off.

Your comments actually are very different then Sub. You feel my ATI mux gives me the appearances of much better picture quality then the NPVR TS MUX. Sub didn't think that made much of a difference....

I'm still confused about the SNR being so high yet you think a booster would help....

What I have experienced is that some tuner cards require a strong signal to lock up properly (around 60db) while others are more sensitive. The signal/noise ratio also have to be good, but that alone is not always sufficient.
